Im confused on Guate's coaching situation did we replace EL PRIMI already. (If we did it is about time). Or do we still have a temporary coach.

Marvin "El Chino" León, the U-21 coach, is currently the interim head coach. I haven't heard any news about a new coach lately, they probably forgot about it....., anywayz the last I've heard was that the FedefutGuate was interested in the argentine coach El Indio Solari, who coached the saudis in the '94 WC.

I think that the new coach is very important we can't just pick anybody though. Look at T&T they got a new coach and they are a whole new team and made it to the World Cup. Guate's has got players with good skill now they just need to be organized.

    there lots of conflicting reports

last i heard of hernan gomez was on gol tv and that colombia were closer to signing him,

but i believe el indio solari would do a good job with guatemala,

does any one know his last few headcoaching jobs after 94WC with the saudis??

honestly i perfer the younger 2time WC coach gomez but maybe the FA are shoping thier options

wasn't he municipal old coach, naw thats okay we would be better off with el primi, im against the poor guatemalan coaching we need a guy with an impressive resume not a guy whose only accomplishment was coaching municipal.

i would like a former la liga coach or some one with successful quailying campaign.

Yeah, I wouldn't want him to coach the NT, but the media said he was a candidate.

hernan gomez two world cups as a coach in a tougher south american campaign. i think he'll do fine with guatemala but he has to be humble and respect the teams in the Concacaf. he has to familarize himself with our direct rivals and future opponents.

he should call a camp some time after the WC and have a few friendlies

i think he'll do wonders and work with the young rising talent and make them better than they are.

Getting back to the subject.......Iam glad Gomez will be Guatemala's new coach, this will be a good change after havin a primitivo as head coach. Seems they want to continue at the level they left off last year.

wow dcatracho eeee i mean cantona got almost all his posts deleted .

this is a time to celebrate a new era.. next to CR ,guate now has the best coach in central america.

el chino will do good with the u 21 but he can't coach men yet,

gomez will be here all 4years for the next process and will have to become familar with the u 21, u23, in those 4 years.

as far as these possible upcoming friendlies , we will see . guate needs to have 3 more matches this year and prepare for the 2007 nations cup.
and time flies guys, quailfiers are 2 years from now.

i hope we won't experience the same problems as last time, and go thru on a automatic spot.
