I doubt that could be called a translation, don't worry.

If my theory that ugly guys make the best soccer players is correct, let's get him signed right away.

Might as well take a chance and get him on board. We took a chance with Naldo and got jack squat.

Yeah, handsome ain't a word to describe this guy. Maybe he can scare the ball into the net.

Of course, Jovan's a pretty good-lookin' guy and he ain't gettin' the job done, so maybe feo is the way to go.

So he plays for the Guatemalan national team with ruiz. What club team did he play for? Is he a goal scorer?

He short of looks like Naldo, which in my book isn't good.
    But who knows.

    Is he a striker?
When was the last time he got capped?

Yeah, he's Ruiz' strike-partner. He had his first start with the Nat'l team in 1996. He played very recently for Guatemala, like last month I think.

A little aged but he does put the ball in the net. He's kind of a poacher. He holds the ball well.

Plus, maybe he'll inspire Pando. That would be atight left side. Dunivant to Pando to Plata - goal.

    Aging huh

Whoa, what a phony shot at getting back the guatemalan support to the HDC.

If we are so disgusted at old European greats coming here for a payday. why is there no uproar for and an old Central American Great. who was never so great.

Will he score a goal, sure probably.... but what does that do for the other 3 strikers you have now?

Naldo - sure most of you want him gone, so who cares?
Whoopi - I feel he will leave this team and go on to have a modicum of success with another team.... in the molds of ( Ching,Mathis,Mullan,Moreno... a F__king endless list)
Gordon - Sorry kid not ready to play here... goodbye and hope you turn out someplace else.

So we'll have an aged combined strike force of about 69 years old.

I just think this reaks of desperation.... serious desperation. if there is no title here and now with this move, could spell the end Sampson and Dougie.

So its hard to root for this new move.

Say what you want, but at least those two occasionally put the ball in the back of the net!

Amen to that, Naldo can't finish end of story. By some strange reason he can find form some where else, so be it. I am just tired of seeing him on the field in the gold and green.

Well, Plata is sure a used-up has-been International.

Especially after scoring like 4 goals in the championship game for Municipal. Or was it 3? Or does it matter?

I saw parts of the game and he had 5 chances the whole game and buried 4 of them. One was a shot from the top of the box, a grass-cutter to the corner. The rest were put aways on strong runs. I thought he was going to get tired from doing that pose of his.

Actually, his pose made me think, maybe he can do his warrior pose with palm open and then Donovan could pretend to snatch something from his hand and put it in his pocket. That would be very cool.

One other observation: Plata is like 5'4, IF that tall. Nagamura will look like a giant next to him.

I saw the game too. Plata seems kind of like the anti-Kirovski. He mostly hangs around up top and doesn't run a lot, but is always at the right place at the right time and puts the ball in the back of the net.

I'm not sure how impressed to be. The other team was pretty bad so I'm not sure if he would get the same kind of chances in MLS. But the second goal was very nice. And I guess you can't argue with four goals.

As already mentioned in the LARS boards, the coolest thing about him is that he has six fingers on his left hand! How can we not sign him?

I just saw a replay of that match on GolTV two days ago and was saying to myself.. "I wonder if the Galaxy could get this guy?"...
I will now watch some La Liga and RM and do some more wondering.. ;)
