I thought I'd start a trivia question thread and see if it sparks some interest and at the same time we can all learn some more about football history in Guatemala

    Simple rules:
    - 1 point (and bragging rights!) for every question correctly answered
    - Time limit: 1 week per question (I will post 3 per week. I may post more as questions are answered - But you're welcome to post your own question!)
    - Everyone is welcome to participate!

First batch of questions. Good luck!

    - Under what coach did Carlos "El Pescadito" Ruiz make his debut for the National Team?

No, neither the Superbowl or the World Series were ever played at the Miami Orange Bowl, although Guatemala played 4 times there.

I believe the correct answer is the LA Memorial Coliseum.

I'd probably get them all wrong but here it goes

    1) Brindisi
    2) Funes
    3) Los Angeles Coliseum

Correct! 1 point for Popol Vuh

The L.A. Coliseum hosted the first ever World Series played in the State of California in 1959, it hosted the 1967 and 1973 Super Bowls, and it has hosted 11 official matches and more than 25 friendlies of the Guatemala NT, being basically our second home.

Another correct answer would have been the defunct Candlestick Park in San Francisco, where Guatemala played once.

Actually I thought of that but wasn't sure! Didn't we play Peru there?

Now that Miguel Ángel Brindisi is out of that picture, I'm going to guess Carlos Bilardo.

    1) Not Pocho either, but not a bad guess.

    2) Neither. I said you were close with Memín, because he was one of the youngest at 16... but not quite the youngest.

Neither. Verón was gone before Fish's time. Passarella has never coached Guatemala.
