Official confirmation: Guatemala to replace Curaçao. https://www.concacaf.com/gold-cup/article/concacaf-statement-curacao-delegation-at-2021-gold-cup/
I want to clear up some misinformation. Some Salvadorian media outlets were incorrectly stating that Kerviño was a naturalized Guatemalan from Honduras. This was obviously based on his skin color and a lot ignorance. Guatemala has always had Black footballers, infact the first Guatemalan to ever play in Argentina during the 1970s was Black, Ricardo Clark. Unfortunately, he didn't play last night but he played very good against Curaçao during WCQ.
Oldest players at the Olympics. Piccinini was our best goalkeeper back in the 80s and a legend for Rojos of C.S.D. Municipal
Guatemalan-American Arquimides Ordóñez made his debut for FC Cincinnati at only 17 years. It has been confirmed that the Guatemalan FA will attempt to make contact with him for a possible U20 call up.

Rafael Loredo from the Guatemalan FA personally traveled to Cincinnati and spoke to Arquímedes. He has apparently agreed to play for the Guatemalan national team. We just need to cap tie him to confirm his future with Guatemala.
He's a done deal, he has already embraced Guatemala. Our next official tournament is the Concacaf Nations league in June 2022. That should officially cap tie him.

A recording from the Panamanian press praising the Guatemalan league (these are NOT youtubers). Very interesting opinions.
Juan Chang achieved Women’s Coach of the Year with his club in New Zealand where he’s remained since 2015.
It's not everyday that an international trophy comes to Guatemala. Comunicaciones FC 4-2 (6-3) FC Motagua Motagua lost due to their arrogance and also their fans on social media claiming victory before the final even started, claiming that a Guatemalan club was a piece of cake to beat. Even Olimpia fans came to support Comunicaciones and Junior Lacayo scored on their behalf.
Allen Juarez, a Guatemala U-20 player in the San Jose Earthquakes academy, will be playing in the NCAA Division I soccer league with UC Berkeley.
It's hard to keep track of all these kids and remember their names. I knew he was familiar so I had to search. He played in the U20 for a couple of domestic friendlies back in November. He wasn't the only college kid that came it was a total of 4, Allan Juárez scored a goal and Edward Castro (striker) who plays for a community college scored 3 goals. The fifth kid that came plays in Colombia for Talento Envigado. I believe that's a youth team, he's Matteo Velasquez. I don't know who's who.
