The talent gap between the US and Guate is significant. And yet they're only better off by 1 point. There's still a chance to go through, slim, but a chance nonetheless. On paper we're the third best team in the group. We don't have players playing in decent leagues (don't you dare mention chang or any of the USL players lol). So in order for us to go to the Hex we always needed for T&T and the US underachieving and Guate to overachieve. I know tonight's loss is frustrating because it had to do more to our mistakes than of any brilliance shown by the Nads. I guess our only hope in the long term is for fish to win the fedefut's next election in September(he's been saying that maybe it's now his to help our soccer "de pantalones largos". I was very very wrong. We should've parked a Mourinho-sized bus from the first minute and waited for the 90 minutes to pass.
We need to win both games and we're through. If we can't beat T&T and St vicent we really have no business in the hex. Worst part of this result is that we all but gave the us the pass to the next round. And I'd feel more confident facing T&T in the hex than the US, since we'd be only realistically fighting for the 4th half spot(behind Mexico, CR and the US) rather than the 3rd spot.
You guys need to beat T&T and that is not Impossible imo and then Stomp the Sh*t outta St Vincent and hope that the USA beats Trinidad by a good margin hopefully 3-0 or above and you are thru on goal differential.
If we beat both, even 1-0, we're through no matter the result of the US-T&T match. If we tie T&T, it better be a scored draw, 0-0 is the worst case for us. Even then we're ********ed, because we need the US to lose to T&T by as many goals as the US beat Sant Vicente by, and then in the last match we need to beat San Vicente by at least 7(6 if it's a scored draw).
