This game is going to be awesome, there was 22k Salvy's in the DC for the Anguilla game. Now add like 19k(assuming theres alot of chapines in the area) more chapines....awesome atmosphere because our fans are rowdy!
hell yeah. Watched the ES vs Guate in Carson over the summer. That place was rocking. Being next to all the paisas made the game so much better.
ya'll in the DC area are lucky to see Guate vrs Salvi, fans do get rowdy and the atmosphere is tight, i was at the Guate/ES in Carson last year, fans were rowdy, great atmosphere and it was HOT!!!!

VietNamNet Bridge – A US sports agency has invited the Vietnamese national football squad to participate in friendly matches in the US from June 7-10, 2008. The team would play against the Guatemalan team and a club from the US or Mexico at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The US agency says it will cover all expenditures of the trip for 32 members of the Vietnamese national squad. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is waiting for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to announce its decision to the chief coach of the national squad, Henrique Calisto. http://english.vietnamnet.vn/sports/2008/04/777771/
Thats what I hear that could happen I nice way to boost Guatemala's confindence i think we have a faster base with the U23's in 70% of the starting 11 it would be exciting to see them play indeed.. anyone know how Ruiz's is Recovering? and any info on the Haiti team coming to Guatemala?
New coach Eloi wants to test only local players for the Guatemala game except Jerrod Laventure who has a permission from his Club Minessota Thunders. That's an experimental squad with some traditional local players and new young ones KEEPERS 1-CLERVIN YVES MARY-----ASC(Haiti) 2-SIMEON JONAS---------TEMPETE FC (Haiti) 3-PIERRE-LOUIS WINS-----ASM (Haiti) DEFENDERS 4-BRUNY PIERRE-RICHARD----DON BOSCO (Haiti) 5-GILLES FRANTZ ---------CAVALY (Haiti) 6-JEROME MECHAC--------BALTIMORE (Haiti) 7-MARC MACKENDY--------VAC (Haiti) 8-GUERRIER PARNEL------VICTORY (Haiti) 9-DESRIVIERES PETERSON---ASM (Haiti) 10-SAMPEUR MC AUREL-----VAC (Haiti) 11-DORCE MARCUS----------VAC (Haiti) MIDFIELDERS 12-ALEXANDRE BOUCICAUT-----VAC (Haiti) 13-CORRIOLAN WADSON-------VAC (Haiti) 14-CONSTANT MONUMA-------DON BOSCO (Haiti) 15-GERMAIN PETER------------BALTIMORE FC (Haiti) 16-VUBERT ALAIN------------BALTIMORE FC (Haiti) 17-ALCENAT JN-SONY--------AIGLE NOIR (Haiti) 18-JEAN JACKSON---------ASC (Haiti) 19-PHILIPPE GUILIANO--------AIGLE NOIR (Haiti) FORWARDS 20-CADET ELIPHENE---------TEMPETE FC (Haiti) 21-AUGUSTIN WALSON------DON BOSCO (Haiti) 22-GUSTAVE ALAIN---------ZENITH (Haiti) 23-CLERJUSTE CLERCANT----RACING GONAIVES (Haiti) 24-JN-BAPTISTE FRITZSON------AIGLE NOIR (Haiti) 25-LAVENTURE JERROD-----Minnesota Thunders(USA) TECHNICAL STAFF 1-WAGNEAU ELOI COACH 2-WILNER ETIENNE ASSISTANT 3-SONCHE PIERRE ASSISTANT OTHER STAFF MEMBERS 4-TOUSSAINT DROGBE COISSI 5-AUGUSTIN CLAMARD 6-JN MARY FRITZ HENRY 7-EDOUARD JN-BAPTISTE 8-DARTIGUENAVE JN-ROLAND 9-ERNST BEAUVAIS
Yep! he came back, he is playing with Brondby reserve but will be with the A team in the coming days.
He decided to leave (had other offers). Eloi and a french staff to replace him(didn't sign yet officially).
A somewhat random question/request: I checked the WCQ schedule a little while ago and I think Guatemala is due to host a game on June 14/15th (against St. Kitts?). Well, it just happens that I am planning to be in Guatemala at that time traveling and taking part in a Spanish immersion program to try and pick up a tiny bit of the language. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for me. Is it a bad idea for me (a gringo who speaks almost no spanish) to try and find a ticket and go to the game on my own? How difficult would it be to get tickets in advance in the US/from a scalper after I arrive in Guatemala? Does anyone know of some inviting Guatemalans that would be willing to let a fan of the game tag along for the experience of a WCQ in central america? Any advice would be appreciated. -T
You don't know anyone, however, through your Spanish immersion course will have some great connections within the country already. My advice would be to ask whomever is based there through your course advice on how to get tickets, get to the game, etc. Good luck and I'd love to hear how it goes afterwards.
i agree. your teachers will be glad you want to go and help you get set up. in 2000 i stood all day in line for tix to the USA game in Mazatenango and some little dudes less than ten years old tried to swipe them while i was at pollo campero! enjoy the game!!
Lately they have been trying to sell tickets online through www.todoticket.com Freddy "Judas" THomspon played a horrible game, he better step it up or else he might ride the pine through the qualification. I guess his move to the Femeninos made him soft and fragile like that team. Eventhough un noticed La CHula Gomez played a great game....
Freddy Thompson is too small to be a defensive midfielder against larger more powerful players. He also doesn't have the tactical sense to be a holding midfielder and he doesn't have the creative abilities to be a playmaker. He's a midfielder that just happens to be better quality than the other crap that we have in central midfield and that is why he plays for the Sele so often. He just isn't that good. He's definitely not captain material.
flores was the captain , i think Christian Noriega and jean Marquez outshine Freddy thompson. clearly the U23's are going to be more useful then expected.. Good win over haiti, good way to start 2008 and the RTSA
Thompson sucks period. I've seen him play a few times and when he's playing club ball he does well. Put him in an NT jersey though and he looks lost out there. I say keep him off and let the younger guys like Marquez, who obviously make an impact take over. Gives us a fresh start.
Yeah - but Flores was the captain when the U23s are out there. He has like 6 caps overall. He will not be the captain when the A-Selection is out there. At this point I think you almost have to switch off between Ruiz (when he's there) as he is really he team leader and Cabrera who's second only to Plata in total caps for the Guate sele at this point and who will be a leader through three cycles of qualfying now.
