1-0 victory thanks to Yedlin’s great pass. His defensive positioning and crosses are about the same but they apparently won’t hurt him as much in this league. Damn lucky to have such a solid keeper behind him.

Well, playing for Gala in Turkey is the opposite of playing for Newcastle in the Premier. Gala comes out to win all games. The Mags play mainly not to get relegated.

Yeah Muslera was good. Cleaned up a couple of shots result from Yedlin’s shall we say deficiencies.

He's a very good fit to Gala. Hopefully he won't be tempted to move to some team where the lateral defenders are expected to, well, defend a lot.

What a perfect ball, and I love that he was looking for the opportunity. Hopefully the team gets comfortable having him run free up the right a bit as well.

Nice effort in the box that was saved (but was very offside):

Yedlin with what appears to be the world’s slowest and loosest sombrero to win a corner.

    Gala eventually score off it.

Yedlin looks great in this league. Everyone is a step slower and that makes Yedlin shine. If he had started here first we would be clamoring for a (ill-advised) move to the EPL.

I sensed DY was going to find success fairly quick. It's fun league to watch. The pace is definitely slower and more methodical but it's fairly technical. Plus, you ALWAYS hear a name or two and you're like....... ahhhh that's where they guy went after leaving ___ club. I can't wait until supporters back...... it will be a whole new experience for DY with Gala fans in the stands.

Do we forget that DY has 109 (6th most all-time for US field player?) EPL appearances, mostly as a clear first team starter for a mid-table Newcastle? That the managers under which he got most of those games were Big Sam and Rafa?

Whatever Yedlin’s time in the EPL was - and I vote for him having played on a team which didn’t come close to playing him to his strengths - about the last thing the move was is “ill-advised.”

Not saying his original move to the EPL was Ill-advised. Just saying it would be wrong to interpret his form against this level of competition as a sign he could do it against the likes of the Man City.

He had another very good game today... especially dangerous in the 1st half and had some good defensive plays.

It's better to start high and get demoted to the point where you look awesome, than to start low and get promoted to the point where you look useless.

Yeah, he's gonna hate having the ca$h in the Jersey Isles.

(Ok, read the second post, so I retract this, but I hate to let snark go to waste, so I'll leave for all my loyal fan.)

The hate Yedlin receives from fans is so undeserved. He could easily still be starting in the EPL under different circumstances.

I like Yedlin, but where exactly would he start or get decent sub minutes right now?

His EPL perfomances generally screamed "Champ player treading water".

Yedlin received a yellow card at 33'. which likely explains his being subbed out at HT.

A different Galatasaray player was red-carded later, and the team lost 2-1, so perhaps the manager will learn that any time he removes a YA he does so at his team's peril.
