Great Guardian article that talks about US soccer and, this is the best part, is not condescending towards the MLS or American fans. http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1264934,00.html
yes, great article I also started a thread in the MLS News & Analysis forum about this article in case mods want to merge threads https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124693
I've always liked that publication. Great article... not a step wrong, and nary an ounce of hyperbole to shoot down the league, nor to build it up out of proportion. That was a very fair assessment of what's happening at the moment.
all true but it does raise questions about where the sport is going in this country. As I see it, MLS is simply a cheaper source of players than Ligue 1 and some of the other European leagues and so the EPL and La Liga sides are becoming more interested as TV rights slowly begin to decrease. The big clubs are putting down roots in the states which may help TV coverage (great) but ultimately are only for their own good (revenue that they will not have to share with the other teams in the leagues), not necessarily aiding soccer in this country.
