http://www.rfo.fr/article1695.html I really like this idea, they're bringing together all the Overseas Territories for a tournament. I think they did something similar with clubs a few years ago Groupe 1 Guadeloupe French Polynesia New Caledonia Martinique Groupe 2 Mayotte Réunion French Guiana
Nice, but you would've thought they could have got a team from St. Martin to make it 8. It's also criminal to have Martinique, Guadeloupe and now New Caledonia in the same group
Yeah they mentioned Wallis and Futuna and Saint Pierre and Miquelon on the RFO site. Apparently football isn't popular enough in Wallis and Futuna and SP&M weren't good enough, but president of their footy organization wanted to play. They may play in two years. In my opinion, Quebec could be one as well. Maybe someone can clarify if they're literate in French
Some really poor coverage so far, no team sheets or anything (just some stuff on Antilles Sport) Mayotte 1 - 6 Reunion Mayotte had never lost a match until 2006, then they started playing more. I think that leaves only the Vatican and Nauru as undefeated (and Nauru with 100% record)

I read it. But I still think Saint Martin was a more conspicuous omission seeing how they usually participate in recent caribbean cup qualifying.. Translation:
Saturday : New Caledonia - Guadeloupe 0-4 Tahiti/Fr Polynesia - Martinique 0-1 Sunday : French Guyana - Mayotte 4-2
Mayotte lost in 2001 against Madagascar in their 2nd match (at least, 2nd known match, they may have played more). 1st known match was in April 2000, they won 1-0 at home to Madagascar. 2nd match was in January 2001, they lost 1-0 away to Madagascar Then they played in August 2003 away to Réunion, drawing 1-1, before losing 3-1 away to the same team in December 2006.
30/09 - Guadeloupe 1-0 Tahiti Tahiti lost all 3 matches by the same score, 1-0. Martinique 1-1 New Caledonia, Martinique won on penalties (no extra-time). Final (4th October) Martinique v French Guiana or Réunion 3rd Place (3rd October) Guadeloupe v French Guiana or Réunion 5th Place (3rd October) Mayotte v New Caledonia
GROUP 1 24/09/08 - Martinique 1-0 Guadeloupe 24/09/08 - New Caledonia 1-0 Tahiti 27/09/08 - Martinique 1-0 Tahiti 27/09/08 - Guadeloupe 4-0 New Caledonia 30/09/08 - Martinique 1-1 New Caledonia, Martinique won 4-3 on penalties 30/09/08 - Guadeloupe 1-0 Tahiti Final classification (4 pts for win, 2 pts for win after penalties, 1 pt for defeat after penalties) Martinique - 10 Guadeloupe - 8 New Caledonia - 5 Tahiti - 0 GROUP 2 25/09/08 - Réunion 6-1 Mayotte 28/09/08 - French Guiana 4-2 Mayotte 01/10/08 - Réunion 2-0 French Guiana Final classification (4 pts for win, 2 pts for win after penalties, 1 pt for defeat after penalties) Réunion - 8 French Guiana - 4 Mayotte - 0 5th place match 03/10/08 - Mayotte v New Caledonia 3rd place match 03/10/08 - French Guiana v Guadeloupe Final 04/10/08 - Martinique v Réunion
This goes against classification at RFO website. http://sport.rfo.fr/coupe-de-l-outr...numsite=1742&id_rubrique=1760&id_article=3641
Would really love to know what teams Guadeloupe and Martinique fielded respectively. As far as them being in the same group goes it just reeks of the organisers not wanting an all caribbean final
Well, there is the slight problem of Québec not being part of French territory since 1763... ...oh, and the part where the most viable team, the Montréal Impact, are already committed to the Canadian Championship and the CONCACAF Champions League. (Although, the Trois-Rivières Attak could be an invitee - if the tournament was made open to other peoples of la francophonie des Amériques.)
They're supposed to be playing the next match on the radio and I hope to get the teams from that, but nothing so far

Yeah I've seen that, it doesnt tell me who played though The final was live on Eurosport, I watched the 2nd half. It was a bit of a rough match, Reunion ended up having two guys sent off. Arnold Polomat appeared to have banged his head quite hard and was stretchered off, it looked quite bad. Best wished to him
