That FSC ad for the Galaxy-RM game just mispronounced Zidane's name. Minor league.

Zero halftime review of the first half. All commericals. I hope they are fixing the last kinks!

Yeah, that's one way to get yourself tired out after just coming off the bench. :D

I found it funny how the other Galaxy players gave up chasing him after about half way.

Okay, so for the "Naldo Sucks" thread- he missed a goal, but then created that one.

You really should start a Herculez Gomez thread.

Hope Hercules gets some good playing time Monday night.. What a dream come true for him should he score the winner.. ( or just score)..
Of course if we win then RM would use that we had Hercules as their excuse.. ;)

    Re:

Herculez played a great game by scoring two goals and Naldo redeemed himself by giving him one assist.

What was Herculez's celebration? I was with LARS, and was kind of far back, so I couldn't see...

he jumped up into the riot squad - ala lambeau leap - and then he grapped one of the blow-up chivas dolls and gave her a couple of kisses.

That was hilarious. Loved it. Herculez MOTM for sure. He plays with much heart. He should start but methinks Stevie might have him as a super-sub.

Despite technical difficulties that caused us to miss the 1st half, it was probably best as I was told it was rather boring.

The Goats are playing much better. How did Naldo miss that shot on goal? Pando didn't do his Simon Elliot impersonations. Electronic light boards look great. The display of passion by the fans was spectacular. Awesome night.

    Re:

What assist? Naldo sucked -- even if he got an assist that still would redeem his suck, suck, suck suck, suckiness tonight. His suckiness almost would have cost us a couple of goals if Chivas didn't suck more than him. Naldo sucks. Bench Naldo and start Gomez as a striker.

Correction - an assist would not have redeemed Naldo (typed too fast).

    Naldo sucks.

Two things, the Galaxy really needs LanDo and Sampson sucks, although the Chivas are playing better, there is no reason why Galaxy should struggle against them, for sixty minutes, Galaxy was outplayed and outshot by the goats, and the deffense was being shredded continuosly, of course this is not ice skating (thank god) and you dont get points for style, once Herculez scored, the Chivas seem to deflate and that was it.
seems to me that the Galaxy is a team wasted on Steve "kill the ball" Sampson, If the chivas were a team with more offensive capabilities, it would have been a rout, but of course those are the same chivas that everybody beat.

Maybe Im a closet chivas fan and Im biased, but seems like the Galaxy need some work, anyway, great game, the ambient at the HDC was incredible and a win is a win, congratulations guys

The Galaxy have done pretty well considering their recent line-ups have had little time to gel. they just haven't found a rythem, but they did in the second half of the game versus Chivas.
It's funny that you thought the backline was shredded - the last line of defense for the Galaxy actually held nicely, with ugo and troy Roberts making some great stops under pressure. Chivas could get into the Galaxy's half a lot, but they had trouble getting good shots.
For example, Chivas had more overall shots that the G's, but the Galaxy had more on frame, even playing with Pando.
Sampson can't win here - even in a game where he played a lot of reserves to rest his top players for Real - and the team wins, that's just not good enough? We allowed Chivas to look that they had a chance? Kill the coach, dang it.
I'm just sick of the lack of analysis and insight that is created on these boards when every thing negative at any point and under any circumstances about the Galaxy is laid at the feet of Sampson, but nothing good is ever accredited to him.
Who picked Ugo? Who got more out of Vagenas? Who developed Roberts, Enfield and Gomez? Herc comes in and scored within five minutes - that's a timely sub.
Of course the Galaxy need some more work - but it's the mark of a quality team to manage to win under less than ideal circumstances. With Albright, marshall and Umana back, the team can gel again. There were key players missing for Gold Cup and injury, and not all of them were named LD.
But yeah, missing the league's best player can make your team look poor as well.
