pre/during/post threads suck. throw all the junk into one.

Returning to the scene of the 8 minute prison shower we inflicted upon DC in which they definately dropped the soap.

let's erase the memory of Wednesday nite's suckfest, and play some G-ball

    Keys?

Someone mark Esky. He's like..good and stuff.

Watch Gros as well. Hopefully he's a sub, and not starting, that kid impresses me.

    The rest of them suck.

Fish. Dont dive. sack up and play the ********ing game.

Albright, please score on DC. PLEASE?

Dema vs Ryan will be interesting when applicable.

Someone tell Kiro that naptime is over.

    Gato is en fuego.

    Sasha don't suck.

    2-0 LA.

Bring it bitches. You can never rest easy.

There's talk on the DC board about Dema introducing Grabavoy to a bit of pain, if it happens I hope Animal Suarez is the first one in to return the favor.

Adu won't start, but he'll probably come on and score a goalzo again.

Ruiz doesn't very often have two bad games in a row, so I think he'll bounce back with a goal, and probably bring some more unwanted attention on himself when he dives around.

Overall i'll settle with a point.

    1-1.

    Per lagalaxy.com (so far):

OUT: Califf (L torn meniscus); Vagenas (groin strain)

    QUESTIONABLE: Saragosa (R ankle sprain)

    SUSPENDED: Chris Aloisi

We'll probably see a lineup like this:
    ------------Hartman----------
    Albright--Marshall--Suarez--Broome
    Jones---Victorine---Grabavoy--Herzog
    ---------Kiro------Ruiz--------

Part of me wants to bench Ruiz for his drama on Wed., but Sat. is another game where he can renew himself & score a couple of goals. Part of me wants to bench Kiro because of low production & blown opportunites as of late, but he might be due this Sat. to score a goal or two.

Let's hope Suarez doesn't do anything stupid, unless it's putting the hurt on Dema. And yes, it would be sweet if Albright could score against his old club.

Yup, I would think that's it, unless Sigi benches anyone in order to light a fire under their ass. I think this game is really important, as far as getting back into our offensive rythmn, so we're ready for the crucial KC game coming up...

as much as it would suck I would be happy if we got a tie. A win would be great but you need to get at least a point on the road.

It looks like Convey, Olsen and probably Stewart will all miss this match due to injuries.. Convey and Olsen are definitely out with Stewart a game time decision..

    Advantage Galaxy....

Such vile and venomous hatred and even a few references to death! LOL, delicious indeed, like a bacon-wrapped dog with a lot of chili sauce to spice it up!

I have no clue on the specifics, but with so many games in a short period of time and the midfield having not done too great Wednesday night, I look for Sigi to shake things up Saturday night.

I could see some regular players getting rested and maybe even going to a 3-5-2 to try and negate DC from having a posession advantage in midfield.

Of course, it could be the same-old, same old, but I think Sigi has something up his sleeve... besides a chubby arm.

Ugly point on the road, but a point on the road none the less.

    I agree, ugly point....
Let's blame it on the field condition...
I liked the Galaxy play better at the beginning of the season...something is missing, it does not click anymore...there are hardly any useful balls to the forwards, no combination play. Ruiz does his thing, and it got us a point, but otherwise...
I only can hope, this is just a well planned tactic..let it run loose a bit now...really, all that counts is to win that final game...but it could be dangerous...
I am also hoping for Andy and Cobi and Kiro to get back into their normal swing...while the defense is a bright spot right now, Suarez being the man, Marshall being the man with the brain..
Let's see, how it is going against Kansas...

Just in case you weren't sure but there are a couple players who were healthy at the beginning who aren't healthy right now. This will ofcourse change the team's style of play. That being said, your statement about the teams style of play is a bit mistimed coming after a game in such ugly conditions. Lets just wait until the next one to pass judgement. Thanks. Later.

Yar - I think the ref really let things get kinda ugly - but it was DC pushing that. They really came out swinging. I think the G's did well to withstand and then grab a point. Frankly, a champ needs some games that are "guts, not glory". Saragossa especially was just hanging on at the end, but hey, that's what it's about sometimes. I was pretty impressed, overall.

I don't know if the PK call was right. (Well, I do, but play along. ;) )

I don't know if not sending Prideaux off was right.

I *DO* know that one of them was wrong.

Hey, he gave 3 yellows. What more could he do? I thought he did a good job in the first half, despite the fact that it was hurting DC. All the cards were legit, and frankly Namoff should have been carded on the first challenge. Petke made a hard challenge and got the ball first at midfield. Borderline call, no argument either way. That challenge from not-quite-behind, where the defender gets the ball first, sometimes it's a foul (and a card) and sometimes not.

Second half? Well, I don't want to troll y'all's postgame thread, so I won't comment further on that.

Oh, so you're not going to troll - but you'll imply because that's ok?

I have no problem saying that the handball call was partly right - but of course P should have been sent off and the Galaxy have a man advantage. I think the ref was being kind to DC by passing around the yellows. He didn't double up on a couple of people who, IMHO, really deserved a second yellow.

Just admit that DC was fouling a lot - and they kept doing it because frankly, the ref let every other one go. Without consistency, they probably figured they might as well play the odds.

Or rather - I purposely didn't go into the DC boards - I came here to discuss what I thought was a gritty performance by our team. You have your own opinion - we're probably not going to influence each other to change at all.

I will say that despite the mucking about in the mud by both sides, it was nice to see the sportsmanship shown by the players after - they seemed very friendly exchanging smiles, hugs and handshakes.

As for the handball...that was very similar to the handball we didn't get against Germany. But since BP was moving, and not stationary, it's much much easier to argue that his arm was in a natural position. You probably like the analogy to Euro 2000 better, but on that play, Xavier was much much further away/

As for 2nd yellows...hey, I said I wouldn't get into the 2nd half, but I still don't know who you're talking about. Namoff? Prideaux (remembering that I already acknowledged that if it's a PK, it's a red)? When? For what?

And he seems to get a little bit better with each match.

    Is he great? No.
Will he light up the league? Doubtful.
Is he the permanent solution to left back? Only Paul Broome can answer that question, because it's his job to lose until Califf, Marshall, and Suarez are all healthy.

He's not Ty, but he's not hurting the team with his play.

I know, I know. Once you start to give your confidence to him, he'll do something on the field that will cost the team dearly. Fortunately, everybody needs a foil. Segroves had it in for McBride, and every time Mike railed on McB, he responded to Mike's criticism by scoring goals.

Keep up the good work, Tops. Galaxy fans everywhere are pleased to know that your desire to crucify Paul Broome will produce a quality left back for the Galaxy. ;)

Lucky for us to get that PK. Thanks Prideaux! But on this same play--if that handball wasn't there--I wonder if the goal by Torres would have not been called offside. He looked onside to me unless he was slightly off and stepped back.

Did Albright get sick/injured so quickly not to make the lineup? And why didn't Grabavoy play?

Topper, continue with the reverse psychology on Broome. Unlike Frye guy, Broome seems to be responding a little better.
