Another small Bavarian (Franconian) team to pound on. Have no idea what they bring as my season preview of Kicker hasn't arrived yet. All I know is we're ready to rip up the Bundesliga and erase the bad memories of last season.
Tx Fussballer for opening the thread; Greuther Furth is not a good team, they've been deleted 2-0 in Offenbach in DFB Pokal and they got not good players but we miss too many ones so the result must be a victory but it'll be hard to me sucking this way......Can too is out so one between Dante and Bads will play LB.......
Furth really fighting for everthing like expected. The subs are doing well so far, shaq all over the pitch fighting for every ball.. So far so good.
What a poor game. Badstuber without offensive vigor as a LB (he's a CB afterall), Dante doesn't get a pass to a co-player, Gustavo incapable of building up our game, Kroos being pressed by two Furth players, Shaqiri loses almost every challenge... It's a poor ... *yawn* ...very poor game.
Müller scores after some rebounds from a Shaq corner. Nice goal, but other than that, it's been a pretty dreary game so far.
Same old Bayern. Seems t be playing to the level of the opponents. Wish they would try and bury every team every match. We have the depth.
My GolTV programming never "refreshed" overnight, so the schedule showed it starting at 9am my time... needless to say I started watching 30 minutes in. Agree with assessments... small town club bunkering down, Bayern looking unenthused, and some 1st game jitters of sorts from Shaqiri and others. Only player impressing me this half has been Dante. Oh... and the GolTV announcers have me scrambling to find another audio source for this matches! I hate these guys... their South American announcers are just so choppy and must be just reading from a script! I see Kroos' best defensive move is still a foul.
Good analysis. Seems like they can't be bothered to put it into another gear. I am thinking of Robben when I say this. He has been nonexistent the 20 minutes I have seen.
Dreary is almost an understatement. I'd use dreadful. It reminded me of the 90's before Trappatoni became our coach when we used to play like this all the time. Well back then we had at least wingers who could deliver some assists with their great crosses and instead of Matthäus we have the great pleasure of watching Gustavo mishandle one simple pass after another. He needed 2 seconds into the game to almost trip over Kroos' first 2m pass. I really hope they manage to sign this Martinez lad. I really do.
We have half a damn team missing and people still want to complain.... As if Furth were just walking around enjoying the view. As I expected they came out fighting... They didn't give us any space and they will do whatever it takes to get a result. So we get a goal and possibly a result under all our circumstances... And we still complain..
One more goal and put this one to bed...Shaqiri looks about 5'5' out there! The goltv announcers dont shut the F up at all. Up a goal away with a ton of first choice players sitting isn't so bad, but it IS against first division newboys..
Boateng is several times better a FB than Badstuber is. He just doesn't have the speed on the first two meters.
Dhajj... Well I am pretty sure in my post I credited Furth for 'bunkering in' as that is clearly a tactic, and one that Bayern often face repeatedly in the domestic league. I don't think so much it is complaining as it is frustration mixed with much higher expectations. Perhaps it is unfair that we judge based on the lack of absent players, but come on... against a team of Furth's quality the team we selected should be able to get MORE than 3 quality shots on goal in one half. Yes Furth came out fighting. The quality will prevail in the end, and if Bayern are unwilling to show it, they don't deserve the full 3 points today on the road. Tis a long season. Much more to play for. And as I always say, any points on the road are good in the Bundesliga. We shall see if Bayern can manage the maximum today. 2nd half begins....
