Now that the group stage is over, let's see your best XI from the group stage. Here is mine, in a 4-3-3.

[LINEUP-4-3-3]Higuain (ARG), Donovan (USA), Vittek (SVK), Honda (JPN), Sneijder (NED), Villa (ESP), Maicon (BRA), Marquez (MEX), Frederich (GER), Jung-Soo (KOR), Enyeama (NIG)[/LINEUP-4-3-3]
Bench: Elano (BRA), Ji-Sung (KOR), Podolski (GER), Heinze (ARG), DeMerit (USA), Howard (USA)

I'd like to see who else everybody picks, and why.

First, Lee Jung Soo is a CB, not a FB. Unless you plan to have a Maradona-esque 4-CB formation, he really doesn't belong there. Second, he's good on set pieces, but wasn't good enough defensively to belong in the best 11.

Lee Chung Young and Park Ji Sung and maybe Ki Sung Young (set pieces) are the only ones worthy of consideration IMO.

    Players I've liked so far:

    --------------Enyeama
    --Maicon-Lugano-Lucio-Coentrao
    ---------Bradley---Khedira
    --Messi--------Ozil-------Robinho
    ---------------Forlan

Way too offensive but who cares.

I agree with this one 100%.

    My bench would be:

Howard (USA), A. Cole (Eng), Medel (Chi), Dos Santos (Mex), Sanchez (Chi), Honda (Jpn), Sneijder (Ned), Ayew (Gha), Vittek (Slv), Villa (Esp), Donovan (USA), Palermo (Arg)

    That's it for me.

Was excellent against Greece coming in and I can't think of anyone else to put there...how about Pablo Barrera from Mexico, would that be better?

Otherwise I think my list is pretty good.

Elia and Suarez would be better.

This is a good lineup, although Donovan has risen to higher occasions than Robinho in the group stage.

    I'm going for this lineup:

    -----------------------Green-------------------------
    Pak Chol-Jin ---Cannavaro---Moore----Abidal
    ---------Gouvou --- Keita ----Kum Il-Kim----
---Samaras --- Yakubu --- John Dahl Tomasson

    Manager: Kim Jong-il
    Assistant Manager: Raymond Domenech

Some of the players are a bit out of position maybe but, bleh - nothing shrewd management and cunning tactics can't fix.

Lol love the manager and assistant manager. Only one question though, Tomasson? I didn't think he was bad at all, even with the missed penalty. Replace him with Anelka imo, the more failure frenchies the better.

tbh - I can't really recall how he played against Holland or Cameroon but against Japan, he was just brutal. I remember one shot where he slipped as he was about to shoot. When he came up for the penalty I just knew he was going to miss and he almost missed the rebound as well. Anyhow, I guess it's nice he got a goal as he's a legend back in Denmark. Anelka, I thought maybe he'd enjoy a bench seat right alongside Domanech.
