So far this match is going exactly the way Queiroz wants it to play out. He will be very happy with a scoreless draw.
Let’s see what kind of adjustments England makes at the half.

2nd half will be interesting. Will England find a way to get the 1-0 or will it finish 0-0? This Ghana side arguably has potential to defend even better than Iran 2018 under Quieroz depending on who the opponent is (e.g., England), their players are physically faster/stronger, which can make them recover the ball near their box faster or shut down shooting angles. It is a good match up for shutting down another physical team like England, maybe Bellingham can work some magic. But relatively speaking this Ghana side would have a tougher time defending against a team like Argentina or Portugal.

    Point of gold for Ghana.

    Emotional let down for England.

Ghana arguably had a penalty at the end after a counter that did not even go to VAR. England were therefore punished by hitting the bar and then Kane missing the easy rebound.

Neither team deserved to win that game.

Ghana maintain their outstanding record of never losing their second group stage game at the WC!

Amazing achievement for Ghana who are through to the knockouts after 2 matches with both their top 2 centrebacks and their best player Mohammad Kudus out though injury. They were never as bad as their form over the last few years and could only really improve.

Quieroz ball requires a bit of luck to work (e.g., the Kane miss at the end). But when it does it is an amazing feeling. E.g., 2014 Iran Argentina and 2018 Iran Spain the luck was not there, but Iran 2018 against Portugal it was, and today Ghana against England it was.

There was actually a foul by Konza in the England penalty area in the second half which should have been penalised!

There have been a number of possible penalties in this tournament that haven't been given. They are seeming to make the threshold for penalties much higher, which I do like. They better not be handing out any soft ones later on though when it suits them.

If Saka can't get fit during this WC, England's attack goes from great to Norway level IMO.

Still can't believe they didn't invite Palmer and Trent to the squad for games like this, especially given Bellingham's mediocre form all season.

I agree soft penalties shouldn't be given., but when the defender brings down the attacker and doesn't play the ball it should be penalised.

Yes I said that when he announced the squad, you need match-winners who can produce a goal when it's desperately needed.

I am glad people around the world are getting a glimpse of how good Panama can play
I know it was only a quarter of a match but for some reason they play full games like that against USA. They beat us in Copa America and Nations League the last couple years.

Panama playing good. But what on earth happened to Croatia? It is like they came without any plan and have made tons of strange mistakes. The way Croatia are playing they will lose to Ghana (if they attack they won't be able to score much and Ghana is even better on counter than Panama) or at best tie Ghana and be 3rd.

It's the end of an era for them. This always happens to teams who dont move on from their veterans.
