bro you remind me of the movie The number 23.

With the same fulfilling prophecy mode you can convince yourself that every game is fixed.

Huh? I was the first one who said this. Two things can be true at once.

I am not sure how you cannot see it man. Look at the goals on the replay, not just 1 or 2 but at least 4 of the goals were highly suspect, with defenders jogging despite seeing the threat well ahead of time, players being completely unmarked, defenders being beaten strangely and doing mistimed tackles, etc... And consider the context of the game. Check my comment about goals scored being unusually high compared to xG. Literally all the signs are there. The only thing indicating it wasn't fixed was the late nature of the latest set of back and forth goal, but that can happen, they are not able to make the goals happen on demand, they have to wait for an opportunity where it is not too obvious. And simply what is the chances of a back and forth goal in injury time within 3 minutes: this is already statistically near impossible, when you add the history of the goal (the type of suspect goals scored), which is backed up by the unusually high goal to xG ratio, as well as the context of the game, you can put 2 and 2 together. So all of these factors add up, this game was different than the rest, so it is not about convincing self every game is fixed. Every game did not have this bunch of suspect factors.

Dude, SEVEN penalties in TEN matches. Give me another example of that happening. Anywhere. Anytime. Much less in a World Cup. ALL of those penalties in 2022 were soft, at best. The Di Maria dive in the final was a joke. The biased officiating in the Netherlands match was ridiculous. I mean that Messi intentional handball to prevent a Holland breakaway (not even a card? give me a break), the Paredes double red card offense, come on. Touch fouls called against Holland and France, while Argentina was going in maliciously on nearly every tackle. Ridiculous bias.

And what about the obvious Argentina handball in the area last night? Of course, no penalty called. And the Messi red card offense in the first match, not even a yellow? Wow.

Hopefully, when Messi is finally done, this cr@p will end.

Imagine thinking that 7 penalties over 10 games is something normal just because they are playing better. And Argentina played very well in 2014, yet had no penalties in 7 games.

In last AFCON Algeria also conceded silly goals, for many years I've been seeing that the defense is their weakness so I was not that surprised with the goals they conceded to Austria.
If you watch the whole sequence before the last goal I don't think there was an intent to give the goal.
I don't care much about xG but if you ask me "was the game fairly played" I'd say "obviously no" but was the game fixed ? also no. From the start we knew both teams would be satisfiyed with a draw, in the actual game it looked like Austria thought it was it when Algeria was turning the ball around for a while in the end and then Algeria "betrayed" them with an actual attack that lead to a goal. Then Austria gave their all to come back while Algeria was less alert because they had secured their qualification with 2min left and even in the case they concede one.

Algeria scored the 3rd goal with almost no time left. The ref could have called the game over before Austria scored.

Algeria was eliminated in almost last second against Cameroon and lost out on world cup participation for the 2022 edition. Are you saying they lost in purpose?

The best score for Algeria would have been a tie, not a win. Why would they sabotage themselves for another team? Spain is a better team than Switzerland... if you had a choice would you rather play Spain or Switzerland?

The game was not fixed. The two teams did not discuss things prior to the game. There are unwritten rules in sports between opponents... the two teams played hard first 80 mjnutes then the unwritten rule was we dont try to score on you if you don't try to score on us. Mahrez goal to make it 3-2 pissed off the Austrians as he broke the unwritten rule. Algerian players did not defend all out at the end because they were already assured a spot in the knockouts and a tie would have been a better result.

You cannot rely on results from other matches. You have to keep your own destiny. I dont see South Korean complaining about other matches. If you don't win a game in the group stage, you don't deserve to move onto the knockout stage.

Tie breaker should have been number of wins first, not goal differential. That's the way it's done in EPL and other leagues.

Exactly. So why on Earth did Algeria score after making 110 passes in the build up after 92 minutes? Because they knew Austria would equalize. Why else.
