Senegal super unlucky not to be ahead at the first water break.

France have turned it on. Senegal coach needed to respond before the goal. The momentum was swinging.

Absolutely, the difference being Senegal didn't take their chances.

    An encouraging performance nevertheless.

The foul on Mbappe at 0-0 should've been a penalty though.

I was about to say Senegal's goal was the best of the game until Mbappe replied with one which equalled it!

Senegal needed to be more physical. The ref was letting a lot go. They should have taken Oliseh out for that last goal.

France to me is the clear favorite to win this tournament.

This is why I have France as one of the favourites. Even if they play bad they can still score out of nowhere/ultimately win the game somehow. They have that winning edge aurora. That is why they have been along with Spain the overall the best international team in the world in the 21st century or so (if we include 98 as well).

In 2022 I argue England slightly played better than France but France has that winning edge. And Spain can be very good but like England they don't have that winning edge, and have to rely on pure dominance eras to win trophies (with the exception of 2024, which was more a case of no single contender really standing out and Spain happening to take it).

Also felt like Senegal came at France more in the 2nd allowing France more space. This was a bad move, they were creating enough chances even while being compact in the first. Should have stuck to that gameplan.

Mbappé may have conflitcted relations within clubs, he's on the discussion to be one of the best players with the French National Team.
Senegal was beaten by a stronger French Team.

I was furious with the first half performance, but now I'm happy. They really turned on the style in the second half. Mbappe could have easily had a hat-trick today -- he might get one versus Iraq. I do feel as if they need to improve defensively. That pass by Olise for the first goal was pure caviar -- the vision behind it is simply astonishing. England's loss is France's gain. I see Olise having a fantasic tournament on the back of what he did last season with Bayern. Dembele was underwhelming. I expect him to get better as the tournament progresses. Overall, I am mainly satisfied with the performance. I will sleep well tonight.

If Iraq plays smart/does not get too adventurous they can keep the scoreline respectable against Norway. Assuming they do, I predict Norway to win by 2 goals, perhaps as little as 1.
