Well, come on, @Romario'sgurl, did you really expect them to stop USA? There is a limit even to dreams!
They haven't played in a while since the pandemic. That messed them up from being totally competitive. Australia should give USA more of a game on Tuesday.
Strange, the Swedes do not really seem to and apart from the Canadians the rest of the teams come from warmer climate than they do.

Sweden are resting most of their start players, but have very good replacements for all but Seger and Aslani. And if there are any PK they will miss Hedvig, in other regards both backup GK should be pretty much as good as her. And to be on the safe side both Seger and Aslani is on the bench, should missing one or both of them be to much. Btw: their Blue uniforms look much more as they normaly do than their Yellow ones did.
And with this match, all Swedish players have been picked for the 18 in at least one game. And I actually think everyone but Zećira Mušović have got to play. I suspect the plan is for her to play the 2nd half.
2-0 to Sweden 30' JANOGY Worth noting: None of Swedens goalscores from the other two games are on the field. Hurtig (2 goals) on the bench, Rolfö (2 goals) and Blackstenius (3 goals) not even among the 18 today.
I'm getting the impression both teams are happy with a scoreless draw. neither seems to be pressing much
You are likely correct. USA are doing a lot of pressing in the middle of the pitch. Australia passing the ball back rather than trying to create an attacking opportunity earlier on was pretty embarrassing.
The USWNT certainly picked a bad time to have a dip in form! 4-1-0 (8F, 1A) against top ten competition from last November to this June, now 0-1-1 (0F, 3A) against top ten competition in the past week or so. For a team that supposedly knows how to manage tournaments and particularly use their athleticism and depth to outlast opponents, it's quite weird to see. Making it to the final after earning only 4pts in the groups is a very rare feat... Outside of the utter weirdness of the 10-team 2004 OGs, the only teams to make a final (WC or OG) with just 4pts from the group were 1991 Norway and 2016 Sweden - and of course, neither of them won. History not on USA's side at this point.
I just watched the last 5 minutes of the Australia match. I'd be pissed if I were a stan and woke up at 4:30am for that nonsense. LMAO.
