    CAF needs to fix them a difficult qualifying group for once. Like, make them face a Ghana or DR Congo or Mali.

    Their group was such a joke. And CAF even docked their hardest opponents points to help them even more.

    Yeah, and it's kinda often and that's why they're always making it to WC's only to be trash. They're more often closer to being outside the best 10 in CAF instead of the top 5 and play like it outside AFCON.

    It'll be interesting to see us (Sweden) play against better opponents.
    At the moment it feels like we can score against anyone but still have a shaky defence

    Consequence of poorly designed format.

    If the Qualifiers had started in 2025 and featured a maximum of 6 group games I believe Nigeria for example would have qualified.

    Well Tunisia got the hardest group of all the 10 African teams, so I guess their luck with draws has finally run out. They deserve it.

    Or overhaul their qualifying format and design one that actually sends the best CAF teams to the WC. IOW, learn from UEFA.

    Just a thought.

    They got arguably the weakest pot 1 team.
    And not convinced Sweden are all that good either. I need more evidence than this.

    I've always thought they should copy AFC's format. Say what you will about Asia, but their format more often than not, ensures they send their very, very best teams.

    We may shit on the swedes for the way they qualified, but they have something teams like Czechia or Bosnia don't and that you need to make noise in a WC: star power.

    True, but AFC format may be difficult when you have 2 continental tournaments per 4-year cycle because it includes about 20 matchdays. But yes, it gives time for the cream to rise to the top.

    The AFC uses that very format to determine AFC cup qualification, so they could do that to determine at least one of the AFCON teams.

    The more I think about it if you are playing 442 how many teams can field a better striking pair than Sweden ?

    The rest of the team though, we will see in their next 2 matches.

    On paper the rest of our team is alright but haven't gotten it together defensively.
    Our weaknesses is at the goalkeeper position and that our only good right back is injured (Emil Holm). ironically we got five decent left backs.
