Myanmar 4 Tajikistan 3 Kyrgyz Rep 0 Japan 2 Japan with a 6 point lead and mostly home games left look like the group winners at the half way point. Krygyz Rep and Tajikistan both have 6 points, with the former holding a comfortable goal difference advantage.
Myanmar 1 Mongolia 0 Kyrgyz Republic 1 Tajikistan 1 Japan 12 Kyrgyz Republic 7 Tajikistan 7 Myanmar 6 Mongolia 3 Japan seem to have this group wrapped up with a game in hand and three home games to go. Second place is tight but unless whoever ends up second can get points in Japan I think they will fall short of the top four second place finishers.
Any truth in this? https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer...sian-world-cup-qualifier-20200219-p54251.html
Japan 4 Tajikistan 1 Kyrgyz Republic 0 Mongolia 1 Japan 21 (+40) Tajikistan 10 (-2) Kyrgyz Republic 7 (+4) Myanmar 6 (-18) Mongolia 6 (-24) Japan wins the group and goes to round 3. Kyrgyz Republic's loss has made life difficult for them. I think with all the points dropped by the teams that whoever comes second will likely fall short of the best 5. In theory Myanmar could still sneak into second with two wins in their games against the two teams in front of them.
Kyrgyz Republic has 10 points and plays Japan. Tajikistan has 10 points and plays Myanmar. Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic each need to win and have the other one not win to have a chance to advance.
