This referee does not inspire confidence. Seems to be in way over his head

This ref is making this match feel more like a Gold Cup than a World Cup.

I genuinely feel bad for Türkiye. The looks on their faces when yet another shot goes inches wide. What was their xG? Must have been at least 2

And what a heroic effort from Paraguay, after getting put to the sword a week ago, not only do they come out like crazed berserkers, but they then fight like crazed dogs down a man for an hour, and hold Turkey scoreless (and indeed had one of the best chances, maybe the best chance, even if apparently it was offsides when the goalie for Turkey made that spectacular save).

Credit to Paraguay, they played like warriors tonight and earned every last little bit of it.

 

Can’t wait for Paraguay-Australia. I hope they get a real referee this time.
