    7/20 18:00 Japan vs Oman - preview
    7/20 20:30 Iran vs Thailand - preview

Japan are the defending champions but they're missing several key players. And the last time the two teams met, Japan needed an injury time strike from Tatsuhiko Kubo to beat Oman in Saitama. This time, the match isn't in Japan and there is no Kubo (or Ono, Inamoto, Takahara or Nakata or Tsuboi).

Iran are the one of the favorites, but Thailand will be looking to match Indonesia's upset of Qatar.

6 hours till Japan and Oman kick off.

i think more than half of the japanese players on the pitch today won't play in mascut so go squash oman hard enough so as not to leave the omani any rooms for excuse unlike the last match and tell them who's the king once for all.

    early prediction
    japan 5-0 oman

hahahahaha so thailand got their own 'zico'. i know this senamuang guy quite a while. i wasn't impressed by him at all when i saw him long long time ago though. i thought he already retired. must be a good experience for him to play in front of the real zico

    I predict Oman 2 : Japan 0

Japan only beat Oman by 1 goal in Japan in the 90th minute. This time it's not in Japan, Oman will win.

    JPN 1: Oman 0
1 goal would be enough for JPN in hot weather.

I hope ur right, i hope Oman beats Japan, but there is such thing as "talent gap" and it's not that close...but then again, there's such thing as a "miracle" so we'll see...

I become so nervous that now I can not write complex writings with English at which I am poor.
But Go Japan! Show fighting spirit. Good luck.

Japan scored, but not good showing.
Japan's midfielders can not hold Oman's attack till now. No pressure.
Oman is rather dangerous. They have decent skill and are fast.
And I can never underdstand why Kaji is regular.

    HT Japan 1-0 Oman

Nakamura got past a few defenders and swerved the ball into the lower right of the goal. Well struck! Japan's weak pressure in the midfield allowed Oman to have more possession, and Japan's front line, Tamada and Suzuki, was almost invisible. Our defenders, however, are very composed, and Nakazawa is excellent today. Sloppy start but we have the lead, nonetheless.

What do you think about this game?

I think our players are playing like **********. Japan gives up a ball to oman so easily, and Oman counnters and threatens Japan more than 10 times. They keep making same mistakes again and again and again. They don't know how to learn and adjust.

If I were the coach, I would send Suzuki back to Japan at HT. He is such a cheep player because he always tries to fake a ref by falling down or pretending like he's hurt. And his technique is at 6 year old kid's level. It's sickening to watch him play.

Also, I would pull out Kaji. He is not even an regular in FC Tokyo.

Nakamura is also "moody" player. He always thinks big plays, not play making. He should go to an audition for a circus team.

Endoh and Fukunishi are VERY quite as always. These guys have to control the pace, but they don't speak out at all.

Miyamoto sacks as always. Weak in the air, easily beaten and loses marking. Put Matsuda in!

I really don't understand why Zico keeps selecting these guys as they keep making the same mistakes and proven they are useless.

don't worry we are taking it just slow. oman look better but already given up a goal and will run out of energy soon during the 2nd half. mighty japan will then add several more goals

    Yeah, I hope so.

But I expect Japan to play like champs.

Oh, yellow to Tanaka. Same fashion continues. Cheezy mistake in midfield and another counter...Learn it, boys!!!

    Oman keeps attacking.

Ball possession is Japan 40: Oman 60. Japan creates only one chance while Oman creates 10 chances...If Hide were there on the pitch, I think he could have smacked 5 teammates by now.

No! Not Oguro. He can score 1 goal out of 10 decisive chances. That makes "hena"gisawa look sharper! I can't stand it, man.

I would use Kurobe in place for Suzuki and Motoyama/Bando for Tamada.

Japan keeps playing **********ty, but Japan incompetent coach hasn't done anything to the team including substitutions.

Please step down after the tournament, ZICO! We had enough.

    Use Ogasawara, Nishi, Fujita, now!!

the reason zico and troussier survived long enough is purely due to the quality of mighty japan. name any other teams that troussier successfully managed in his career. if zico or troussier was managing other asian side such as iran and korea they should have been gone by now for losing to guam 10 times
