Also Nations League.

 

Pleased with winning the group, although I feel we haven't played our best yet.

I would have predicted seven points going in, but with the draw against Canada.

It's nice to note that, in the last year, we have now beaten all three Concacaf elite teams (Mexico, USA, and Canada) - and all in North American venues, even if two of them were friendlies.

 

Not too long ago Canada was the best team in concacaf, but both USA and Mexico have improved their form quite a bit in the last year.

Yes Canada is comfortably 3rd. No one is even close to touching them from below. Panama is not bad but still not really close to Canada.

 

Bosnia is a team that has improved and very decent. Switzerland is Top 15 in the world.

 

How are we third? Didn't this happen?

 

It's like people pick and choose when it's recent results or overall history that matters...whatever fits their narrative.

How is Mexico NOT #1 after winning both Nations League and Gold Cups? How's the US #2 when they lost their last 2 games to Canada and last 3 competition games to Panama?

 

I mostly agree which is why I said Canada was the best team in concacaf since 2022 til very recently. The pre WC friendlies and play at the WC is definately below both US and Mexico. Hasn't helped that there have been injuries bit it is what it is. TODAY Canada is not playing better football than US or Mexico.

 

Sounds odd because they have 9 points, but I haven't been convinced by Mexico in this WC. But they have a big home advantage (including altitude), so it's difficult to assess their "real" level IMO.

None of the host teams have beaten any good team though. It'll be easier to rank these 3 teams if/when one of them does beat a good team.
