Yow has had a strong playoff so far. He has scored 4 goals in 6 matches. He scored 4 goals in the rest of the season.
Lots of interest: Tom Bogert @tombogert Apr 30 Sources: Westerlo want to extend the contract of American winger Griffin Yow and preliminary talks have started. Clubs in the Championship, Belgium and Netherlands are keeping tabs on situation for potential transfer bid if no extension. Yow’s deal expires next summer. Turkey interest as well: Larry Henry Jr @lhenry019 Add Turkish club Konyaspor to the growing list of teams interested in Griffin Yow, per sources. Yow has scored in five of his last seven appearances for Belgian side Westerlo. Westerlo wants to sign him to a new deal, but still early talks. Club has to add funds in summer.
Westerlo's outside chance of playing in the Conference League is now gone. The 4-3 loss to Charleroi effectively gives the Playoff 2 title to Charleroi and makes Westerlo's final matches of the season pretty much friendlies. Not a good match for Yow at all.

In the last match of the season, Yow started and it was a boring match 0-0. Marlon Fossey scored, but a push on Yow in the buildup had the goal nullified. 🤔 | Werd het openingsdoelpunt van Standard de Liège terecht afgekeurd? 🖥️ #WESSTA pic.twitter.com/caHTYxW8dr— DAZN België (@DAZN_BENL) May 24, 2025
I actually watched it. 3 YA on the field. It could also be the last time all three play in Belgium. Standard have tried to make most of their matches very hard to watch this season, Westerlo has been good attacking. I hoped it would be interesting. I was incorrect. Also, this article, which is normally a solid source, that Yow looks to be on the way out this summer.
Bit dated article from Goal. Early May. "I'm someone who is always striving for more," he says. "I don't just accept that this is my level. I feel good here, yes. I'm comfortable here, for sure, but I'm also someone who wants to reach the next step and challenge myself. My goal is to play in the Champions League, to play in the World Cup, and to face these top-tier teams in the world. If a better situation comes, then yes, there would be no doubt in my mind, but it has to be a better situation. I'm ready for the next step, for sure, but it has to be the right one." The decision, whenever it's put on Yow's plate, will be a big one. He's found a home with Westerlo and is grateful for all the club gave him. Yow has watched on as friends at other clubs weren't given the time or patience needed to develop. Westerlo has provided exactly that in the moments Yow needed it most. That's why Yow knows, if he does decide to leave, he has to leave for a club willing to give him even more than Westerlo has. "They just gave me room to adjust to everything," he says. "They gave me the opportunity to improve and show myself in training. When I played well with the U-21s, they didn't keep me down there, and they didn't bring in someone else. I'm so appreciative that they gave me the time I needed to grow up, but also the platform and opportunity to show myself and become the player I am today."
Yesterday on Soccerwise Tom Bogert said that Yow was very likely to be gone from Westerlo. Belgium, Italy and England were mentioned if I remember correctly.
Awesome. Would be really fun to watch him try to take a step up [and hopefully somewhere I can more easily access and enjoy his games]. I like his game.
Little more from Tom Bogert about Yow. Club Brugge ad Anderlecht in Belgium are interested parties among unnamed clubs from England and Germany. But Westerlo is making one last pitch to keep him. Sources: Westerlo trying again to extend the contract of Griffin Yow.I’m still expecting Yow to leave this summer but Westerlo seeing if they can convince him to stay.Current deal expires next summer. https://t.co/XeaPROryPe— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) June 19, 2025
A year ago asked what club he would like to go after Westerlo Yow said that would be nice to get to somebody like Club Brugge.
Interest from Portsmouth: Tom Bogert on X: " Sources: Portsmouth want to sign American winger Griffin Yow from Westerlo. No official bid yet but would expect one. Yow, 22, expecting to leave Westerlo this summer. ➕ D.C. United have a 35% sell-on clause in Yow. Can convert any potential windfall to GAM https://t.co/gj4hCoRaAl" / X
