Is that what's happening? Is Canada sending them back? Pragmatically, I know the US cannot send an ambiguous message regarding obligation of our servicemembers; it is not negotiable. On the other hand, it makes me sick that the Bush administration has betrayed the trust most of us had when we joined, regardless of reasons we had for doing so (e.g., financial, education, "see the world", discpline, etc.). I obviously speak for myself and no other, but in my view, there is an implicit understanding between our government and the troops, regardless of fine contractual print; something along the lines of "be there for us when the country is threatened, and we won't endanger you unnecessarily". Perhaps it was foolish to ever believe that.
