Dunga? he could be among the best defensive midfielder for Brazil) but if including defenders, I am afraid he would be behind at least 5 names: D.Santos, N.santos, De Guia, C.Alberto, and arguably Cafu ...

I noticed you chose Trapattoni as the greatest ever Italian coach, what about Marcello Lippi, Fabio Capello or Vittorio Pozzo?

I chose him because of his records. Didn't he have the best Serie A record? This was just a rough draft. i am opened for update.

Are you referring to Luis Gabelo Conejo or is he a different goalkeeper ?

I'd replace him by Antonio Carbajal.

I'd replace them by Billy Gonsalves, Walter Bahr and Brad Friedel respectively.

    Yes, sorry about that.

He conceded more goals than any other keeper in history, some which any decent keeper would have saved.

He didn´t even come off his line as the attacker approached him.

Campos on the other hand was spectacular despite being very short. He was solid for Mexico throughout the 1990s, both in the 2 World Cups, their Gold Cup wins and only Confederations Cup win.

Gonsalves and Bahr didn´t have the major careers in Europe Friedel and Keller had.

Actually, I think Carbajal is usually overrated because his five participations in World Cups, but in spite of that, he was a solid goalkeeper during his 16 years in León. The biggest part of his high negative record was because Mexico was awful defending in his time.

Campos was a good goalkeeper, very good leaping ability and speed, but only spectacular because his acrobatic style and his colorful attire. Actually, I'd ranked slightly better to Óscar Pérez.

First, I don't think is necessary that a player impact in Europe to have a better individual category in every case. Then, Donovan and Balboa (the players you're mentioning) didn't have their major careers in Europe neither.

Donovan played almost all his career in United States (in San José Earthquakes and Los Ángeles Galaxy) and never had a real impact in Europe (barely played 7 games to Bayer Leverkusen, 6 to Bayern Münich and slightly more than 10 games to Everton scoring only 2 goals at overall). Balboa never played in Europe.

Not many American players besides Keller, Friedel, and McBride have had good careers in Europe, which is one of the reasons for their high rankings. I ranked Donovan and Balboa for their overall play with the USMNT. Babloa was solid in 1994, and helped anchor one of the toughest defenses of that Cup. Donovan helped the US reach one of their best finishes in the WC. Most importantly, he´s the all-time leader in goals and assists for the national team.

You'd replace Marcelo Balboa with Walter Bahr as the United States' greatest defensive player? I think Bahr was certainly a greater player than Balboa, but he was an attacking midfielder.

Walter Bahr never was an attacking midfielder mate, he was a sweeper or defensive midfielder, ever regarded as a defensive stalwart.

But it was his position definitely.

That's true, he was more a deep-lying playmaker, good defending but better passing. I'd vote for Ernst Ocwirk or Ernst Happel to the position of defensive player for Austria.
