Zico is my favorite player, I mean, he was the epitome of futbol-arte, a feast for the eye, the player that you would always like to see when you sit down in front of the TV. Gullit did not even come near to Zico in this respect. But to me, Gullit against Maradona's Napoli in 1988 really seemed "unplayable" to an extent that was unprecedented and remained unmatched thereafter. Concerning Zico, I'd choose France 1981 and Liverpool: nobody else ever approached perfection that closely against world class opponents. No way Ronaldinho. And not even Messi.
If raw effectiveness is of concern, Gullit at his prime was all timer at least. But you would ahve never seen him (and maybe no one else) doing these plays that effortlessly. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EU6d4j02J70?feature=share

After Calciopoli Serie A became a one horse league with Juve winning 9 consecutive scudettos. Now with the decline of Juve, Inter became a stronger team reaching 2 cl finals in 23 and 25. I don't think it's dead at all but it's far worse than it used to be. And I don't think it will ever come back to what it used to be. The tendency is for Premier League distantiate each time more and more from the other leagues. Florentino Perez tried to solve this with the super league but he failed. Now Premier League will become the super league

Conte/Allegri's Juve had more Italian players with 103 points at Serie A and 2 finals in 15 and 17 with Pirlo, Chiellini, Bonucci and Buffon. Mourinho's Inter had no Italian player. Julio Cesar, Maicon and Lucio Brazilian. Samuel, Cambiasso, Zanetti and Milito Argentinians. Sneijder dutch, Eto'o from Cameron. Chivu and Pandev not from Italy
