Horn is not injured he's sick and the 100% obvious was called, the younger Krahl who's been the 1st team bench GK all season whenever Kessler was out would be the starter IF Horn is not ready and Scott would be bench.

So, more than likely, Brady Scott is never going to be a first team FC Koln player.

looks like Horn did training without complaints and traveled with 1st team. So seems like Scott won't even make the bench.

It was always doubtful he was going to make it especially since a GK his age was loaned out to 2BL this Summer (made his debut but injured himself on his debut and wasted his chance to be #1 there) while Scott stayed behind than Krahl who is younger is ahead of him. Not only is Krahl younger but the coach openly stated that he would trust Krahl to play 1BL. Schalke are also interested in poaching Krahl too...

The club has also 2 promising younger GKs in 02-Adamczyk and 03-Urbig. GK is the hardest position to breakthrough and historically Koln has never had any issues dev GKs themselves......

It’s probably time for him to check out when he can. I know keepers peak later but it’s about time that he starts playing or he’s not going to be playing soccer much at all very soon. I could see him carving out a name for himself in Scandinavia, Switzerland, or the 2nd Division in Holland, to start out.

uh, he's playing, you know Koln has a II team in RL/4th division.;) Always amusing how people view II/RL as not playing.:p RL is better that EPL2, at least RL you play vs adults and it's not a youth league like EPL2.

I think his issue is that last season Bartels seems to have been better and this season Krahl has been better. Although he's the GK who's played the most II this season due to Krahl being with 1st team numerous times.

upward mobility is never an easy thing for GKs too. There are a lot of GKs who are 97-00 still in RL, plenty who could easily play higher but you have to find a club willing to play you and that's the hard part. It's too easy to end up 2nd or 3rd/4th GK at clubs. That he at least plays II could at least make it easier to go elsewhere, would have been bad for him if he was only bencher in II. He also has 2021 contract it seems, so his Koln time is ticking.

Switzerland? His USA buddy Klinsmann Jr went there to be #1 and can't escape bench GK status.

Scott has 10 appearances all season and just 1 since November 3. He isn't really playing.

    post Winter break.
1-0 loss to Rot-Weiss Essen, Scott in XI. The game your referring too
1-1 draw vs Haltern, Scott in XI. Your missing this one.

post Winter, Koln II had 3 games played, Scott started 2/3. Another 3 games were delayed including one over past weekend. He likely would have played even more post Winter if it wasn't for constant delays in games.

    in not surprising event.

02 GK Adamczyk gets pro contract that last until 2023+another year option. Has been training with 1st team since he was 16 too.

"We pulled him up into the U21 ahead of time and integrated him regularly into the goalkeeper training of the professionals," explains professional goalkeeper coach Andreas Menger. "After successfully completing school this year, he can now fully concentrate on his way into the professional field, which we all trust him to do."

does seem like Scott's days at Koln could be numbered.

so TM was wrong when they said that he has a 2021 contract. According to article he has a 2020 contract.

Brady Scott has to go, Julian Krahl is scheduled as number 3
Keeper Brady Scott (21) also has no future at FC. The FC is repositioning itself in the goal - at least as far as the positions behind Timo Horn (27) are concerned. Scott's contract has expired and will not be renewed, as sports boss Heldt confirmed to EXPRESS.

it makes sense with Bartels returning, pro contract to Adamzyck who could move up to II and Urbig becomes #1 in U19. Scott just seems like he was going down down the pecking order.

Every young player should seek a club where they are valued, wherever that may be. It's clear that Scott is and has been an afterthought at Köln, so I'm glad he can move on now rather than waste a year.

wouldn't say afterthought just that the competition is rated higher than him.

fact is Scott was never really ahead, even in his 1st season in U19+II he was behind others.

he still played 29 RL games overall. And fact is GK is the hardest position to breakthrough in XI. Clubs don't sub in GK unless injuries. And unless older GK is injured, flops or leaves, there isn't really that many ins.

Afterthought is relative. If the competition is all rated higher than you, you're an afterthought.

Weston McKennie is a very good player. Put him on Real Madrid, and he's an afterthought.
