The WUSA Great Moments in Shirt Lifting thread was much better - at least the Heather Mitts section.

Totally agree. As long as the goal scorers aren't taking their shirt and throwing it into the defender's face who they've just burned, who cares? It's a celebration for chrissakes!!

O well, the anal retentives win another one.

PS. Donovan could be picking up quite a few yellows this year.

Is there a rule against slinging off your shorts and running around in a jockstrap for a celebration?

    Here's how I see it.

When someone goes to work, if they decide to take their shirt off and run around the office, someone will probably stop them. Maybe even punish them, depending on the situation.

When an MLS player works, the field is his office.

Are you really comparing a corporate office to a soccer field and competition?

I see the vague similarities but not the direct ones.

Having said that, there are other ways to celebrate, and I'm sure many of the players will think of them.

Well, you know, life is just one big corporation, and all of our behavior should reflect corporate life.

    Fall in line, slave.

When someone goes to work, if they decide to take their shirt off and run around the runway in the strip club, someone will probably tip them. Maybe even with a five, depending on the situation.

When an MLS player works, the field is his strip club.
