So many interesting match-ups from Friday to Sunday. Some of the overrated chaff is going to be exposed, I think. My 5 favorite games of the weekend, in no order. 1 - James Madison vs. UCSB - Both are undefeated, and well-regarded mid-major teams. UCSB seems to really be on the rise. UCSB has 14 goals in three games and JMU has allowed 1 goal in four games (albeit against a soft schedule). Who is for real? FRIDAY 4:30 @St. Louis 2 - Notre Dame vs. Furman - Are the Irish for real? Their results so far don't seem to justify their sky-high NSCAA ranking. Furman's been crushing a lot - will that continue against UND and Bradley? SUNDAY 1:30 @Notre Dame 3 - UCLA vs. San Diego - Clash of undefeateds. This would really be a statement win for San Diego if they can get it, and UCLA may not be as good as their ranking. SUNDAY 1:00 @UCLA 4 - Brown v. North Carolina - Brown is the favorite to win the Ivy again, but this weekend is their first action of the season (they open with Michigan on Friday). UNC looking a bit vulnerable after the Davidson loss. SUNDAY 1:30 @Brown 5 - Wake v. Virginia - What can you say? The ACC is seriously underway with this one. SATURDAY 7:00 @ Wake also - Rutgers v BC (Sat.), American v Penn State (Sun.), South Carolina v Washington (Sun.) Anybody have any predictions?
I predict that I would enjoy this game much more were I actually able to go to it. But Virginia 2, Wake 1. I'll keep you updated on this game as I told a friend to call me whenever anyone scored. I also think JMU will beat UCSB. Then we (James Madison) play SLU on Sunday, which I'm gonna guess will be something like 3-1 St. Louis. Is anyone going to be at these games? If so, can you start a thread and post little reports afterwards? It would be most helpful. I'm assuming/hoping SLU has a pretty good Sports Information office so we'll get the information in our office quickly. Also I hope Brown beats North Carolina...
Re: Re: Great Games This Weekend (possible R) I will be at the games and I will file a soccertom exclusive report! SLU will have good coverage of the games @ their website of which here is a link, http://slubillikens.ocsn.com/sports/m-soccer/stlo-m-soccer-body.html
