    Link status

The link is kind of flakey. Go over to the Quakes forum for alternatives.

Question/clarification. Graziani was loaned to Deportivo Emelec. This mean that he could come back to MLS too in any given day

Graz was loaned to Barcelona for the rest of the year.

He's the leading scorer in Ecuador right now. 7 goals in 8 games.

He scored an incredible goal against Boca Juniors...

He's still signed to MLS so maybe he'll be back next year.

Unless this season the MLS had exercised the option on his contract, and he is going to be free once this season is over.

This is all specualation as I am not familiar with the specific details of Graziani contract. MLS usually signs 3 yr deals with an option for a 4th. Graziani joined MLS in 99, so this would be the option year if he signed a standard MLS contract. I guess it makes financial sense to pickup the option and loan him out instead of letting him go free.

BTW, he was loaned to Barcelona not Emelec.

correct. He will be done after this season. He will not be coming back to MLS. He hated it here anyway.

Frankly you couldn't pay me enough to take him back on this team.

Oddly enough, some people "just don't fit" on a team with a great bunch of guys.

    Go figure.

How do you know he hated it here? He didn't seem to get along with Jeffries' coaching style, but he did well under Dir.

    Did Graziani(sic?) tell you anything?

As for taking him back, It would be great to have a proven late-season and post-season MLS scorer playing for the Burn, but we both know that's a moot point with Jeffries in charge.

Graziani, at times, is brilliant. At other times, he's slower and lazier than a two ton bulldog on a hot summer day. There's probably a reason why he has played for like eight teams in nine years.

I know he hated it hear becasue I read his comments after he joined Barcelona... He said flat out he hated it here... in the US, not just in Dallas.
I don't have the link but it was a pretty strong comment.

In 13 playoff games, Graziani had 6 goals... 5 of which came in 1999. Only 1 - for San Jose - came after that first season.

Graziani had a Very big cap number, big enough to get Cerritos and Bonseu in the same slot... and he was a locker room cancer. One of the only guys to get in fights with teammates, yell at other players during halftime, and red carded playing Texas Spurs.

I saw him play for Barcelona when in CHile. He did exactly the same thing he did in Dallas: Yelled at team mates who didn't give him the ball, and then quit on them and refused to run anymore.

There is a reason he has been on something like 10 teams in the last 9 years.
