During the early part of the olympics I had acl reconstruction surgery, so I was stuck with nothing to do for a while. I watched a lot of the olympics including curling. I learned the rules and actually started to enjoy it. My name is Nate and I am a curling fan.
The first step is always the hardest. Congratulations Nate. Truthfully, I am not a fan, but when you're in college and you and your roomates are trying to finish off yet another case at 3am and all that is on in Olympic stuff, you'll watch anything, even curling...and strangely enough, it wasn't that bad. My name is ******* and I am curling fan. (Can't release my name, stalking problems...)
Every winter I think about taking up curling. Maybe this will be the year I finally take the plunge. The main reason I think about it is that the Saint Paul Curling Club is next door to, and shares a parking lot with, a bar that I frequent.
My name is Tim and I am a curling fan. My best friend, his brother and I enjoyed an evening of watching CBC's coverage of the Canadian women knocking off Great Britain in the 1998 Winter Olympics. We wanted to take up the sport right then and there, but life kind of got in our way. Sandra Schmirler (pictured above), who skipped (captained) that team, sadly has since died of cancer.
Easy to say, but you need to back it up. Curling (big matches) is a very tense sport to watch (I've also wanted to take it up), you juste need to refer to the 2002 Olympic final when the Canadian needed to draw to the button to win and played it slightly too heavy, losing out by inches. It's also fun to watch and hear the players talk between themselves, elaborating strategies and the like.
