Candidates Alain Geiger (FC Aarau) Pierre-André Schürmann (Swiss U19) Rolf Fringer Geiger is the big favorite...
...and Alain Geiger it is. To be honest, I've got some mixed feelings on this. Geiger is a good coach (and ex-hopper) that has done some great work at Xamax and Aarau under some very difficult conditions, but there's always the Swiss Romand in Deutsch-Schweiz curse (see Lucien Facre at FCZ). I also have some doubts about him leading a big club... We'll just have to see how it works out. First candidate for the now vacant FC Aarau postion is Wohlen's Martin Rueda.
i think, geiger is a good choise of the grasshopper-pack. he'll lead the team to hell. no trainer from a little club (and aarau is one) has a chance to manage the team of the pack. GC isn't a footballclub, it's a firm. there's no soul and no heart. i think, geiger is a fighter, and fights with soul & heart. but, on the other side of the railways, lucien favre is doing a good job @ the FCZ. the success will come...
In the assumption that you are a FCZ fan, this is a dream come true. I finally have a FCZ fan to heckle all season long... Welcome aboard! SwissGCZ - proud fan of GCN (das Pack) PS: Have fun in the Challenge League
okay, you're right. we're sportly no good as expectet, but from the fan-sight we're the only club in zürich. but i still believe, that lucien favre is doing a good job & and i hope, we wont absteigen (i don't not know the word in english) in the challenge leage. but if we do, i don't worry, there's still the fc sion, the coolest fans in switzerland.
No kidding... I still remember the days during the summer, when FCZ was labeled as the "transfer winner" all throughout the media, only to fall flat on the face once the season began. With the signing of Filipescu you guys are well on track to become the "winter transfer winner" as well. A bad omen? As much as I would have to laugh to see you guys get relegated (absteigen), I hope not. We need two healthy Zürcher teams to make the new stadium work. PS: Where is Oknard?
And Martin Rueda it is... Mats Gren has been promoted to assistant coach next to Alain Geiger, and ex-Wil coach Martin Andermatt signed with FC Vaduz.
There's Only One Team in Zurich "GC isn't a footballclub, it's a firm. there's no soul and no heart." Ha! It was a football club the last time I looked, and furthermore one that has won 26 league titles, 18 Swiss Cups and qualified for the Champions League twice thank you very much. And FCZ? If any club in the city's football credentials are to be questioned, it's the scum from the Letzigrund. "From the fan-sight we're the only club in zürich". Attendances for the two clubs this season say otherwise matey. HOPP GC!
i don't think, we are the winter transfer winner... one transfer, okay, it's a good one, isn't enough. the team has many weak points, not just in the center defence. and with the usual luck of the FCZ, this guy will hurt himself in the training and never play a match... hehe. but the other transfer the fcz has done, isn't really a reinforcement. di jorio has signed four times a contract with us. the last finalrunde this guy sucked. he played every match, and he did nothing. awful! nuja, let's hope, that he learned to play football in sion. ahoi!
I have to say I really feel sorry for Sven Hotz... Years and years of investing - and only one cuptitle. I sure hope for you guys that you find some more investors (like we have to now), otherwise I see a dark future for FCZ once Hotz quits...
