All respect to fellow Acores Islander Pauleta, but he wasn't getting it done. Gomes makes it happen on the international stage. We need Gomes in there, and given Scolari's apparent reluctance to take out Pauleta, those two yellows could be a blessing.
after 23 years finally a win against Spain, know we have to do the same to France and Italy http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_y...A--?slug=reu-eurospain&prov=reuters&type=lgns
Nuno Gomes always plays well, especially in big games. Nuno Gomes played great against Spain, not only did he score the goal, but he was very active coming back to get balls in the midfield, and opening up the game for the other players (he had the great pass to Maniche where Maniche almost scored).
At club level, we can say Pauleta is a bigger star. However, Gomes has been clutch for Portugal over the years, who can forget Euro 2000. Winner against England, two goals against Turkey and that fantastic goal against France in the semis. Forca Nuno, es o Heroi!
