Sad news today in the Boca world.

At the young age of 55, President Pedro Pompilio died this morning of a heart attack.

It still has not sunk in for me. I turned pale while staring at the news on the computer. Unbelievable.

Perdida profunda.

Just a correction. Pedro was going to turn 59 in November. Doesn't make much difference, but at least we know he was able to enjoy life for 3+ more years than originally thought. This according to Martin Costa, reporter covering Boca for La Red and Fox Sports for many years. Even the CABJ official site has him at 55?

For the records, the new Boca President will be Jorge Amor Ameal. Vicepresidente 1°: José Beraldi
    Vicepresidente 2°: Juan Carlos Crespi

Pompilio's family has requested that Boca play on Sunday against San Lorenzo, just as Pedro would had wanted. This puts away the rumour of a postponement, and has been officially annonuced by the club. Also, his funeral will be tomorrow at 14:00 at “El Campanario”. No velatorio, as per fmaily request. The $$ that could had been spent in flower arrangements can be donated to UNICEF, as per Pompilio's family.

The weird news of the day is that Pompilio had requested Macri for city approval to remove seats at la Bombonera in order to allocate more seats for the visiting cuervos. He was suppossed to receive an answer today, something that life didn't give him a chance for. Today, Macri determined to denegate that request.

though Macri was a great president for us, you can tell the big difference between him and Pompilio. Everyone who seems to have had a rocky relationship with Macri has still come out and showered Pompilio with praise. He was a true professional.
