The thing that keeps me up at night is a "Succession" type event in Philly or Pittsburgh.

 

The cops helping in Atlanta keeps me up too. Whether that's through action or inaction, I dunno. Guess it doesn't really matter.

I'm constantly amazed by just how triggered Conservatives are by even a small amount of diversity. As an example, an extremely popular video game just came out based on the Warhammer 40k universe. The universe is set in the 41st century and the universe is a literal hellscape where basically the entire universe is at war. The video game has a single female character whose model is based on the British voice actress of Iranian descent and one of the members of the main character's fire team is Black. Every other character in the game is white and male. Yet, conservative game reviewers are claiming the female character that looks Iranian and the Black character is breaking their immersion and ruining the game for them.

Many also had tantrums over the "woke" Star Wars series "The Acolyte". Many non-white actors + "Alien Lesbians" + alien critter with unknown pronouns They flooded Rotten Tomatoes with bad reviews.

 

Fundamentally, isn’t it extra weird to get mad at stuff like this when the premise of the whole genre is imaginary worlds???? I mean, AIUI Bridgerton exists in a world in which the English aristocracy from 150 years ago had lots of people of African descent. I can understand saying those casting decisions disturbed the viewer’s ability to get immersed in that world. That’s a place and a time that actually happened in the real world. But the Star Wars universe isn’t real! The whole thing is by definition unrealistic!
