Donald "I believe Vlad rather than the CIA" was the candidate for the Patriots' Party. Donald "Storm the Capitol Police" was the candidate for the First Responders' Party.
By coincidence I listened to Fiona Hill on the Heilemann show today on my run - she was horrified by that moment but saw the reasons for it slightly differently. Basically Trump is just such a pathetically weak and unfit clown that he'd rather side with Putin than stand up to Putin and admit what happened. She was in the room with the rest of the top brass and they were all horrified (included pompeo and co). I think on balance her view is quite convincing, though we'll never really know what happened in that meeting

This is why I (a non-affiliated voter) voted against Hogan in his re-election campaign while nearly every one of my Black friends (who are Democrats) voted FOR Hogan. At this point in history, Republicans simply cannot be trusted. Everything is about power. Hogan was only under control in Maryland because all the other levers of power in the state are controlled by the opposing party. But when democracy is on the line and they are free to act as they wish, the modern day Republican will sell out the country every single time. I can't vote for that.
She'd never get it This song is about an innocent balloon flying over a border wall and the subsequent show of unnecessary force at the border by angry gun-toting nationalists. You’re who Nena was singing about, @RepMTG https://t.co/p0XKMuBT5e— Mueller, She Wrote (@MuellerSheWrote) February 4, 2023

we all had a good laugh at their idiotic shitshow, their AR15 pins and ridiculous posturing. But now it’s getting real, they will vote on everything and anything to put it over the Dems. Even at the expense of the blind fools that voted them in. White House says GOP bill would force 'one of the biggest Medicare benefit cuts' in history "In less than a month, MAGA extremists have threatened to drive the economy into a recession by defaulting on our debt, promised to bring up a bill to impose a 30% national sales tax, and now have introduced legislation to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act," Patrick Gaspard, president and CEO of the Democratic Party-aligned Center for American Progress said in a statement. "This will cut taxes for corporations who earn billions in profit while empowering Big Pharma and Big Oil to continue ripping off the American people." It is vital that all Americans understand what is at risk if MAGA extremists succeed in passing their latest dangerous idea: millions of lost jobs, millions more without health insurance, and higher costs for lifesaving insulin, utilities, and more.
Nothing like that will pass the Senate or get signed by the President as long as Biden is in office. It's just a show.

Fun fact: Pentagon confirmed that THREE Chinese spy balloons flew over the US during Trump’s presidency and he shot down zero. https://t.co/vQUouQTIiT— Garrett M. Graff (@vermontgmg) February 5, 2023
I love these fantasies that things wouldn't have happened under Golfing Donnie's reign. As if he would ever have noticed.
Remember Trump couldn’t be bothered to read intelligence briefings so when they showed him a picture of a balloon he figured thy were aliens.
