You poor thing. I didn't claim to speak for the Jewish community but instead quoted a website representing a Jewish organization so that they could speak for themselves (and I made sure to include in the quoted material where they say there is a difference of opinion among people in the community).

It was you who was suggesting outrage on their behalf, not me. It was you who was supposedly speaking on their behalf, not me - just as you did supposedly on behalf of gays a few weeks ago. I simply provided the website and direct quotes of members of the Jewish community, thereby allowing them to speak for themselves in a way that directly refuted what you were saying addressing the specific example you used.

There are multiple lessons here for you. One is to stop giving credence to the right-wing outrage machine. Another is to stop your theatrical outrage on behalf of groups you have no ties to. A third is to actually do some research before you speak. A fourth is to do justly, to love mercy, and to show some humility before your deity. I'm not going to hold my breath.

I'm not sure where I stand on the Matt Gaetz affair accusation with his staffer and former intern Joel Valdez. I mean, the guy is in his early 20s, which seems much too old for Matt.

 

I am against any type of affair between a person in power (Congressperson, doctor, lawyer, professor, etc.) and someone under their "control" (intern, patient, client, student, etc.).

That's a bright line for me, joke about Mr. Valdez's age notwithstanding.

Agreed. I'm just not sure how credible the accusation is. It certainly wouldn't surprise me with Gaetz, but I remain somewhat cautious about believing it at this point. Regardless, I wonder what his "son" must think. Which leads into:
