Is Hunter Biden the new Benghazi? Will Joe Biden be impeached because he breathes? How long until Kevin McCarthy is forced out as Speaker and will it be due to scandal, stupidity, sickness or something else? America wants to know!
We are gonna be in for a wild ride!! NOW: a senior dem member has shared that moderate Rs have reached out suggesting that if McCarthy wins by making these Freedom Caucus concessions, some moderates will work with Dems to vote down that rules package.— Brian J. Karem (@BrianKarem) January 6, 2023
I don’t think Biden will be impeached because I think the GOPs won’t be able to hold enough moderates. There will be at least 5 GOP no votes.
The concessions made by McCarthy mainly seem to fall into two categories: efforts to try to force extremely unpopular spending cuts, and efforts to ensure that the House majority fights back directly against prosecutions of Trump and/or his cronies. Both of these, if put into practice, will be politically toxic for the GOP members who were elected in Biden districts. Because of this, I'd expect the Republican leadership to try to focus their efforts on something like getting rid of funding for IRS enforcement - enabling rich people to evade taxes is something that all Republican factions agree on. They'll also hold a lot of investigations that produce cable TV soundbites and headlines in right wing media, but probably don't accomplish much. I don't think that'll be satisfactory to the extremists in the long term, though. If I had to pick one issue with the potential to provoke a crackup in the GOP, I'd say it's probably Ukraine aid. Cutting off Ukraine so that Putin can run rampant is a key priority of the Tucker Carlson wing of the party, but other important members and leaders are firmly anti-Russia - remember, Russia was the one and only issue area where the GOP legislature resisted Trump during his presidency. I don't see a lot of room for compromise there.
Impeachment only requires a majority, and I would like to know who those "No" votes would be. You are an optimist!
The obstruction of justice begins There are some eye-opening provisions in the text of the GOP’s proposed “select subcommittee on the weaponization of the federal government” that will get a vote next week. One explicitly authorizes the review of “ongoing criminal investigations.” https://t.co/sPiLh9agJw pic.twitter.com/qfEUGUa2g9— Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) January 7, 2023
So what are the talking points that relate to the "weaponization" thing? Is this about the IRS? I sincerely have no idea WTF they're even getting at with this one.

I don't think there will be a Biden impeachment because there is nothing they can claim is questionable. If they do go through impeachment hearings, Biden's approval will skyrocket.
Something I have known, but have only really latched on to is how the Republicans view government, and what government's purpose is. To Democrats (post Dixiecrat migration), government's purpose was to help out the people, particularly minorities (of all kinds). Republican's were to preserve the status of White people, particularly if they had wealth. White people have a longer history of wealth, so reductions in social programs like Medicare/Medicaid, social security, welfare, etc., will hurt non-Whites more than they will hurt Whites. So the lens they take, whether intentionally or inadvertently are with maintaining White Heterosexual Christian Supremacy. It is about maintaining culture. So everything that the Dems do to make life better to make life better for minorities is an attack on White Heterosexual Christian Supremacy. An attack. Thus, because we in the US speak in military terms, Democratic policy means they are "weaponizing" policy in an attack against White Heterosexual Christian Supremacy. It is interesting that I'm currently in the middle of a series on the rise (and fall) of David Duke, and some of the stuff he was saying/promoting in the late 1960s/early 1970s view hateful rhetoric, is very much what the Republicans are doing and saying today. Many of the Republicans (White Heterosexual Christian Supremacists) think they are, literally, being replaced. This is why Jan 6 is so contentious. We Dems see it as an attack on government. Republicans see it as a fight for their survival.
Sure, there are several who could. But MTG and others could raise tons of money off just talking about it.
Just wait. Just wait. They will come up with SOMETHING. It will be bull crap, but they will come up with something. Excellent point.
Let me translate from Wingnut to English. It's about FBI "overreach" in regard to Trump and the 1/6 traitors.
Apparently Rodgers was drinking lol Tim Burchett (R-TN), who was between Gaetz and Mike Rogers, suggests Rogers was drinking on the House Floor, calls him “a redneck,” and says “I would drop him like a bag of dirt” per @KateSullivanDC pic.twitter.com/GDmJiYIqXt— Aaron Fritschner (@Fritschner) January 7, 2023
