If he was interested in history he would note how bad the political climate is when the Speaker needs multiple ballots

    She is NOT dead!

Her birth name was Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber.

The core group of people that actively participated in or lent support to the attempt to overthrow American democracy now have greater power than ever before?

Brummie aside, when it comes to politics like this, it would be wise to consider him an expert, at least around here. Unless you don't like the educated class, then he can ******** right off.

But, you should take heed in what he says. That McCarthy couldn't prevent his members from voting for somebody else, let alone voting for him, does not suggest he has the ability to corral his members when important legislation comes down the road. And I'm thinking budgetary items, as the Republicans don't have any serious policy on the table.

And your views on the insurrection aside, it was a violent breach of the Capital Building intended to subvert democracy one year ago yesterday. None of the leadership has spoke out against that action, and very few current serving have. Remember, what ever your views are on the insurrection, the action one year ago yesterday's stated purpose was to stop a vote count.

This fiasco showed that members of McCarthy's party continue to want to stop vote counting. And that McCarthy can do very little about it.

Don't be deliberately obtuse. Why did it take so long to pick Speakers? Because of realigning politics and crises. You should always be alarmed when politics makes for good TV.

You more than most. I get terrified when Polish news goes global.

Brummie can be annoying and sometimes is-- but "educated" and "insightful" are definitely among his attributes, and not to be sneered at.
