Recent developments have cleared the slate by two teams: OKC and Cleveland are out for the near future.

So, who's in with LA Chivas?
Vote for who YOU THINK MLS will choose, not necessarily who you'd want.

The time to announce someone serious for 2005, other than Xenophobes USA, would have been last fall, so I don't see anyone else really ready. While the connections between AEG and Seattle are curious, and technically Rochester would actually be in better stead than even the Goats for next season, no other city has a combination of investors, capital, a plan, and a place to play.

Now is the time to announce someone else for '06, be it Rochester, Seattle, SLC (if it is Checketts that is behind their bid) or "other".

The league has made it pretty clear that if even if the announcement is later than it should be, they are siding with TWO new teams in 2005. This is why Seattle has an "edge," : already existing running franchise with stadium. Sure, they'll have tons of work to do, and be at a disadvantage for time, but MLS might just give them a monetary reason or two to "rush" things.

Also, lately Rochester has NOT been mentioned. Their stadium has yet again been delayed.

They were mentioned as a very strong candidate for 2006, not for 2005. The 2005 train left a while ago for them. Now if this latest setback becomes more than just a bump in the road, we'll have to see what happens.

But they have been mentioned lately.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Not mentioned for 2005. Of course they will always be mentioned in in terms of expansion, long and somewhat short range.

Should they include a second team in Dallas or New England?. I think that it would be a great idea. USA Chivas at Gillet or Dallas stadium as a second team.

Well that is just plain silly.

Surely you realize that a second team in New England would be called "USA Irish."

Meanwhile, in Dallas a second team would likely be called the "Houston Sucks, FC."
