From Shawn no more glidden as a sponsor. http://blog.dispatch.com/crew/2011/01/glidden_out_heinemann_in.shtml
So we managed to get a league sponsor on our jersey for a few years... And now we don't have one on our own? Or a stadium sponsor? Shocking.
Though we'll certainly miss that money, I will enjoy it if we find a sponser which fits on the jersey better.
What was wrong with Glidden? It was symmetrical and its colors didn't clash with ours. Can't ask for much more.
Glidden took a big hit when the housing bubble burst, since nobody is really building houses nobody is buying paint. I know I have said it before I would love to see White Castle as a sponsor.
Well, and not saying we should emulate anyone, but for the most part the other sponsors seemed to be just lettering, or lettering and a small logo. Ours was a big(ish) white oval on the center. I will say that they were far less embarrassing than some of the other teams in the league. We could be sponsored by ladies' cosmetics afterall.
I wouldn't take it to mean anything, but oddly the @BestBuySoccer (an official account of Best Buy) retweeted Shawn's tweet about the Crew's sponsorship ending with Glidden. Again, probably nothing, but really interesting considering how nice our colors work with BB.
I thought Best Buy ended there deal with the Fire? And do they still have a deal with MLS? I don't have Twitter could somebody tweet White Castle see what response you get.
Isn't there a Busch Brewery 15 minutes away and don't they spend a bajillion dollars on advertising? Slap Bud or Michelob on the shirts, like Liverpool being sponsered by Carlsberg.
good riddance, I would rather have no sponsorship than have glidden on the shirt (only joking). how about tapping up that guy that won $190m he might throw us a few million just to shut us up. oh? FO have already tried?...ah...
I kinda posted this in News & Analysis forum but if the Crew believes they won't be able to get a company on their shirt for the up coming season. It would be really neat to see them put a charity on the jersey. It would get some media attention and I think could be a really good PR thing. This is if they can't secure a paying sponsor of course.
I wonder if the league would want the Crew to kick in money if they gave away the sponsor spot to a charity?
It's so weird how people in Ohio are crazy about Yuengling (coming from someone who grew up in PA before moving to Ohio and is therefore accustomed to Yuengling, or, as it's referred to in PA bars, "a lager").
