No clue how Joseph Gordon-Levitt is not getting more roles... It really is beyond me.

Two other featuring greatest-up-and-coming-talent Joseph Gordon-Levitt:

    Manic
    Mysterious Skin

    Also, some other suggestions:

El Aura (sort of a blend of neo-noir and fantasy, Argentina)
    Little Fish (good drama, Australia)
Memories of Murder (excellent real-life serial killer story, Korea)
You Can Count on Me (nice little flick, US)
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (quirky and funny, Australian)
Muriel's Wedding (if you don't mind Abba OST, Australia)

I loved this movie. And I went this whole time not knowing that Nick Cave wrote it.

"Mysterious Skin" was great. "Brick" was a bit too stylized for my tastes, although I liked it.

I'd like Brick better if they used modern dialouge instead.

Not indie by any stretch of the imagination, since it was directed by Penny Marshall and stars Danny Devito, but Renaissance Man seems forgotten. Situationally, it has my all time favorite St Crispin's Day speach.
