Great fan support out at the HDC from the KC fans. Congrats on a great season. It's a shame that one team has to leave the field without the victory. Kudos to you guys for bringing it the entire game.
I've gotta echo Mike Lastort's post. You guys were pretty impressive in the supporters section. I was in the first row of 126 - yeah, one of those a'holes who kept yelling at you. This is what I wanted to say though: I think some supporters clubs in MLS think it's just about making as much random noise as possible. But you guys did it right. You sang real (occasionally clever) supporters songs, and you sang them clearly and in concert. You just just had it all together. It was nicely done. I hope you keep it up.
I was just watching on TV, but it did seem the KC fans brought the noise. I could hear plenty chanting from them.
You guys (Cauldron-West) looked great this weekend. The Missouri Azzurri banner looked great, and the Jimmy vs. Conrad banner was perfectly placed right behind the corner flag. Quick story: On the corner kick that led to our PK, I noticed the banner for the first time and said to myself: "Wouldn't it be great for Jimmy to get a goal on this corner?" And then, the ball falls right to him, and he puts it right on frame. Until Dema's bitch-ass decides to do an incredible disgrace to himself and the game leading to the PK. But hey, it's Dema. What did we expect? So anyway, great signs, great energy from all of you KC fans who made it out to LA. Too bad the team couldn't come through for you guys.
I totally agree, I saw the DC banners when the broadcast started, and I wasn't really surprised to see all of theirs and then they pan to the Wizards section and the Cauldron-West has almost as many banners, it looked really good. We're gonna have to get in early next season to hang all of them up.
This is my first post since getting back from the Cup. I've had school to catch up on and I really didn't want to be on BigSoccer for a while. I just want to congratulate DC and their fans. I hope you enjoy the Cup as much as we did in 2000. It was nice to meet the DC fans Saturday at the Bash and the few I ran into in the parking lot after the game were good natured. Congratulations again.
This is one of those areas where MLS doesn't do it the way they do it elsewhere. But this time it's a good thing. We've demonstrated that we can be as passionate about our team as anyone else in the world but still respect the other team's supporters.
