i know that most posters regard rankings of soccer with comlpete contempt. I can see how as some of the pics are quite dodgy. But i was thinking about what it means to the US that its national team is in the top 10 (fifa) and that one of its club is considered by the reporters of fox to be among the best 25 in the world (galaxy). I know that these may be inflated numbers but the trend of achieving higher rankings can only be a benefit and shows that the advancement of the US is not only being noted but also respected bu the rest of the world.
    thoughts anyone?

Okay, I'll bite. I agree with your assessment (if I'm reading it correctly). Anyone can make a valid argument that the USMNT doesn't deserve to be #10 and LA doesn't deserve a #25 ranking, but the mere fact that these two teams have achieved rankings above previous/past rankings must mean something. Whether we deserve our current rank or not, we are being recognized as steadily improving.

The way the US is going in ten years time I know for sure we will be in the top ten. And MLS could have a team in the top ten just about the same time. Right around it's twenty-year anniversary.
