from oliver tse: Fox Sports Net affiliates will be showing the English Premier League match on Fox Sports World saturdays at 12 pm et on a 3 day delay starting tuesday august 20th at 12 pm local time with the leeds united-manchester city match (not available on comcast sportsnet philly)
Why is Comcast Philly the one Fox Sports affiliate that always opts out of anything men's soccer related?
They would rather show a something called "Paid Program". I'm going to have to check it out because the program listings always has it on in the afternoon everyday. If it is on everyday than it must be good and get great ratings.
Paid Programming is when someone pays them to run a "show", or more likely, an infomercial. Jerry Falwell is paid programming. So is the skin-care product featuring Vannessa Williams.
Out here in CA they don't seem to have a listing for it. I just get the same old FSW 'call your money pit' to get access message ... Hank
Well, Comcast Philly (and Comcast DC/Philly) isn't an affiliate of FSN, they just take some programming.
As of now, it is listed on their schedule for noon that day. And every Tuesday in September, except the one where the O's and Yankees play at 1 p.m. (9/10) and they are showing the game at noon the next day then. Happy, happy joy!
In a related note, it appears BBC America isn't carrying The Football Show (highlights or preview) anymore. At least, it's not on their schedule for the next two weeks.
Yeah, those shows seem to have switched over to FSW. The preview show starts this Friday, the highlights show starts next Tuesday (8/20).
this is truly excellent news! and the day I have my heaviest amount of classes no less...now more than ever, must learn to program that damned tv-vcr thingy, it'll be soo great to come back every evening to a taped tape-delayed English league match. Anyone know how to work these things?
Not having FSW (but having FSN-Detroit), I ask: Is the televised game going to be just the one game, or similar to Lionel Bienvenue's most-of-one-game-plus-highlights-of-all-the-others broadcasts of two years ago? And, if it's the former, will the highlight show also be on regional Fox Sports Net networks?
Another FSW-less person here (and pissed that my cable company says that negotiations with Fox aren't going well), but the way things look now, it is a game and not the highlight shows. I don't think the highlight show is going to be on the regionals from what I have found. Comcast Baltimore doesn't have it listed for the next month but has the Tuesday games in there each week.
