Cablevision Agrees to Carry the YES Network

The feud between the YES Network and Cablevision ended yesterday with a one-year deal that will make the network's Yankees and Nets games available to Cablevision's nearly three million subscribers in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Westchester, New Jersey and Connecticut, starting March 31.

Some Cablevision customers will pay more, others will not.

The deal, which was brokered by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and negotiated at his Upper East Side townhouse, requires YES and Cablevision to submit to binding arbitration next Feb. 1 if a long-term agreement is not reached before then.

Though as a redsox fan i had delighted in the fact that most yankee fans couldn't watch their games because of King George's greed, this is good news for those people and good news for soccer fans, even if it just means seeing more of Man U.

As a fellow Yankee hater who is not a Red Sox fan, but who roots for the Red Sox to beat them whenever possible, I was hoping Cablevision and YES would continue their feud as long as possible also. But I guess any extra soccer coverage is good overall.
