i just got ESPN's list for what's goining to be on tv next week and.......................... the Inter v Arsenal match will be shown live in the US on tues. November 25 @2.30pm on ESPN2
ESPN Why is it so hard to follow Champs League? two games per month (or less). There's an additional package and we don't get it in Texas!
I will never believe anything that involves the words "ESPN" and Champoin's League" until I friggin' see it.
Are either Real or manUre playing on Tuesday? If they are, prepare for the last second switch. Or maybe ESPN will treat us to another "Road to the Women's World Cup" special followed by 2 lumberjack contests and an hour and a half of "Bubba and Mike's Cajun Fishin' Jamboree Hootenanny Special" Lousy ESPN bastages....
Eastern time zones get one game during Champ Leag. weeks and Central gets two(tues. and wed.) I am not sure about the rest of the country. When I am in central Indiana I only get one tues or one wed. game. But if I am in NW indiana I can watch one on tues. and one on wed. I have no idea why. I hate ESPN. They need to start a ESPN world channel like Fox.
Arsenal & the CL It's almost good (in a bad way) that Arsenal screwed the pooch during the first part of the CL, so that next week's game actually means something. Otherwise, a meaningless ManUre or Real Madrid game would be shown. When will ESPN learn that the biggest teams don't necessarily produce the best/most meaningful games? I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I like to preach. . . -Derek
Re: Arsenal & the CL Believe you me... there was NOTHING good about our early CL results mate... are you basing this because you can watch the match on the tele???? ffs totally moronic post (must be a longhorn)~
I think he means the fact we were scheisse for the first few games means the later games count => so they're more likely to be televised => so Arsenal are available on US TV. I think.
well, it looks like i'm not going to any of my classes on the 25th because they are both in the afternoon.
Re: Re: Arsenal & the CL Pay attention to the word ALMOST and the phrase IN A BAD WAY. If I call myself an Arsenal supporter (and I do, with much gusto), believe you me, I was not at all happy with the 0-3 thrashing at the hands of Inter. It saddens me that you would make such an accusation, Phishy. You're barking up the wrong tree if you're trying to start some screwed up argument. And there's no need to start hatin' on my beloved Longhorns. As long as you're not an Aggie, intelligent discourse can come from the matter. -Derek
What do the Aggies and Longhorns have in common? They both gave up more to the Sooners than the Mean Green..... UNT '91 Sun Belt Champs '01, '02, '03.
coach, should north texas state give it up??? lmao genius post genius post genius post and by the way, we get OU this weekend in Lubbock!!!! I would LOVE to be able to see this game!! *praying that we cover the line*
Inter & Viera Hey I got nothing against Tech. . . They were my safety school in case my safety school fell through. Speaking of, I think a half-drunk Paul Gasgoine could've kicked better than Tech's kicker last Saturday night. On a WAY more serious (and topical) note, I know Viera's supposed to sit against B'ham this weekend, but any word on the likelihood of his playing against Inter, our most important game of the year thus far?
spoze you'd be looking for us to lose against Internationalize as well... "safety school" what a *#*#*#*#ing pratt..... you might want to mix in a win against OU some year *#*#*#*#ing teasipper bastard...
Phishy Funny how you're in England, yet calling me the tea-sipping bastard. That one hurt. I'm not going to deny the fact that OU beats our ass every damn year. Texas is a good team, but we pale in comparison to Bob Stoops' boys. It would be one thing if you actually went to OU, then your words would convey a little more meaning. And the last time the Red Raiders beat the Sooners? Was that back in your "glory" days in the old SWC? If hell freezes over and TTU beats the best team in the country on Saturday, I'll gladly eat my words. But if Simmons can't complete 50% of his passes against UT, he likely won't do much better against OU. Hey, at least you beat A&M!!! Best of luck in the galleryfurniture.com bowl this year. Say what you will about college rivalries, but don't doubt my allegiance to Arsenal. That's just uncalled for. No need to burn the sole bridge between us. Wide left.
phishy- Just hope TT doesn't give up more than 37 points or loses by more than 34, becuase then, I'm afraid, Tech will have to go on "The List". Aaaahhhhh, it's one of the few times the Mean Green allow me a little gloating room. Of course, A&M giving up 77!?!? What's up with that? Of course, it's kind of sad when my bragging rights are tied to "Hey, we got our ass kicked by less than you got your ass kicked" UNT - Texas College Champs, Least Amount of Points given up to OU Division.
sorry to get this thread so outta whack... lol coach~ I fully expect Tech to lose in lubbock to OU.. the difference in total talent level is obvious.. is Symons getting any Heisman attention??? Dbecks.. i could talk about our rivalry sure.. we win at home, win get are arses (usually) tanned in Austin... strange how TU doesnt take tech seriously.. and im not English buddy, im a texan expate.... am i a *#*#*#*#*# for not wearing my arsenal gear to the game tomorrow?
Symons is getting some Heisman exposure, just not much. Seems the National media is convinced that his numbers are a "product of the system". I think it's all residual flak from the Heisman voters giving Andre Ware the Heisman back in '90 (or was it '91?) when Houston was running the Run and Shoot and the passing stats were just un-fricking-believable.
Is this what you Texas guys resort to when the Starzz stink so bad - talk about college football? (Been checking the NHL standings lately, Phishy?)
The Lone Star State Sadly, we Texans always have to resort to American football as the default. It's too ingrained into our collective psyche. Most UT fans would kill me if they heard this, but I'd prefer Arsenal winning the Champions League over Texas winning a NCAA football championship. Now the Dallas Cowboys winning another Super Bowl, that's another story. . . Texans (or Dallasites, specifically) only care about the Stars when it's Stanley Cup playoff time.
