The Bad News: New England won tonight, placing the Burn dead last in MLS.

The Good News: Kansas City lost as the Western conference teams continue to lose against the East and not gain any ground on the Burn. A good result in New York and we are right back in the thick of things.

good to hear about the west. I don't have any confidence in this team after Saturday.

    Good point Alex Sans.

Colorado is the team that needs to keep losing for us to have a chance at playoffs though. I said it before in the "who is our biggest rival" thread. Colorado is the only other inconsistent team in the west. I predict they will again have trouble. Even if they or us have a good streak, at the end of the day the battle for the last playoff spot in the west will be between Colorado and us.

Forget Chicago, the Brimstone Cup won't get us to the playoffs, although it would be nice to get both. This year in any Chicago vs Colorado game, I'm rooting for the Fire.

    uh... dude...

i won't forget Chicago and the Brimstone Cup is VERY important to me. i may hope that Chicago beats Colorado if it's going to help us get into the playoffs, but i'll never root for them.

I understand that the Brimstone cup is VERY important. But, how can you hope that Chicago beats Colorado but at the same time not root for Chicago to beat Colorado??? I'm not talking about hooting and hollering in front of my TV set for Chicago...but I will be rooting for them when they play Colorado. Colorado IMO is our biggest rival so we should root for anyone that is playing against them INCLUDING Chicago.

I like the Brimstone as well but it would be nice not to be in last place in MLS.

How about splitting the difference and rooting for the tie?

Right now our goal should be 4th place in the West. I don't care if that means we are 9th out of 10. Good for the Revs - we needed them to win that game so we can keep KC and the Rapids as close to us as possible while we get our shizen figured out.

Actually, That Revs game was a darn good game. I watched the 2nd half after watching the US shell Honduras. We owe Pat Noonan a pizza or something for scoring 2 goals in the last 5 minutes. And to show our gratitude, we shoudl slap them down on June 12th when they stop by for a visit.

But anyway, thanks for yesterday Revs. Its gives all us bottom feeders hopes.

After last year and this recent road trip, 4th place in the west would be a glorious sight. Thankfully we are only 2 points out.

Clint Dempsey is quietly becoming my favorite MLS player. Buzz, did this kid ever work out with the Burn? (he's from Nagadoches)

That Taylor guy from KC looks he should be from SMU (the Southern Mississippi variant) not UCLA.

I never noticed how good Tony Meola was as distribution before. His punts are amazing.

Jay Heaps' horrible mistake reminded me of the one Salyer made vs. KC.

I like Garth Lagerway as a commentator.

Did you see what happened to Sharlie Joseph's finger? Ugh. I'd have been crying like a baby. He's back in the game like 2 minutes later. And he's playing with a broken nose.

    Has Steve Ralston lost it?

KC and New England are both very beatable. But so are the Burn.

I definately owe him a pizza or something -- he bumped my fantasy squad up to 4th place with his hat trick! :D

I saw that. Man, Shalrie Joseph is one tough MF. Remind me not to get into a bar fight with him.
