I know what you are saying it but the way I look at it is different. Yes in the end, we lost the war but we won a lot of important battles in that war against a very strong opponent that most people thought that were going to completely walk over us. In the end, we only lost once to them.

 

Not exactly a shameful performance - on aggregate juventus actually suffered a heavier defeat then you guys.

Realistically the quarter-finals is probably the maximum any Portuguese team can achieve looking at how strong the big clubs are. Unless you get really favourable draws

 

Benfica held their ground and did really well against a tough team but lost. That is all it matters to me. Moral victories are a Portuguese tradition.

 

I'm guessing the first game, away goals and aggregate score mean nothing to you. Great job on the tie, does that give you one point in a knockout round?
