I saw in another thread that someone had a DVD with the title "History of Soccer" or something like that. I was wondering, does anyone know of any good DVDs that talk about the history of the game? I don't know any specifics and I can't find the thread again. Thanks for any help.
History of Football This series aired on PBS during the World Cup. It's a PAL DVD (NTSC is the US standard) so you'll need a DVD player that plays PAL or a PC with a DVD player.
It's really good. Like skipshady mentioned, get a dvd player with PAL playback capability. Who knows if/when dvds like this will be available here in the US.
Zidane DVD is awesome. Is the Champions' League DVD being sold in Eurosport any good? For some reason, the cheaper the DVD player the more likely it is to have multi-region capability.
It's good. Could have been better but I would recommend it. This dvd is produced by LogosTV who are an Italian company who also have produced: The History of Juventus The History of AC Milan The History of Inter Milan Golden Ball Awards Their titles all come with an insert that contain stats and info on that specific title. All of these dvds are Region 2. SLS (who is the vendor that supplies Eurosport with the CL dvd) must have licensed the dvd from LogosTV. I've spoken with SLS about other titles available in Europe but there were no plans to license these other dvds in the near future. It's a shame. BTW - I see you are a Madrid fan. Have you seen the "El Siglo Blanco" dvd?
History of the World Cup is awesome. Of course, it only goes through 1998, but it is 4 DVDs of great footage.
I agree. Other good soccer dvds: The French 2 dvd set of Euro 2000. Lots of really cool features and extras. Makes me wonder why the same kind of production wasn't utilized for WC 2002.
